As an ML Engineer at Lionbridge, you will help transform our business by enabling intelligent workflows powered by predictive models and big data.
You will perform innovated research by defining, designing, implementing, and evaluating new algorithms, machine learning models, deep learning, and natural language processing, to solve challenging problems involving unique data and objectives related to translation and localization.

Design and development of robust algorithms and techniques using text analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning;
Work with our innovations team to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions;
Mine and analyze vast amounts of linguistic data (e.g., multilingual text) from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development and business strategies;
Introduce techniques and ideas to increase the accuracy and performance of the team’s existing products, e.g., transformers, embedding, multilingual embedding (LASER, and similar), seq2sep, Large Language Models (GPT-3, Megatron, and similar), deep learning approaches, etc.;
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques;
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets;
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, internal workflows, and revenue generation;
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes;
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Proven experience as an NLP / ML Engineer or similar role. Experience in implementing enterprise-grade machine learning and deep learning algorithms to solve real-world problems in the NLP field;
Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages : Python, SQL, etc.;
Experience with both relational and non-relational (NoSQL) databases and data lake storage solutions such as ADLS;
Good knowledge of machine and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, ML.NET) and NLP (e.g., Marian, NLTK, OpenNLP, SciPy);
Good experience using transformers, BERT, word embedding, seq2seq, interlingua vector space in both monolingual and bilingual scenarios;
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics : regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.;
Experience with using statistical software applications, including SAS, R, MATLAB, SPSS, or NumPy;
Experience with Big Data programming technologies including Hadoop, Databricks, Spark, R, or Hive;
Experience with computational notebooks such as Jupyter;
5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, has a master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
