Location : Warsaw / Praha / Athens / Budapest / Bucharest / Netanya / Kiev

About the opportunity

The primary responsibility of the role is to act as the privileged point of contact to the CE / SE MCO’s Market Access country teams for access-related matters that require above-country support, including the mobilization of all relevant functions for access related product and market-based challenges / opportunities.

Also responding to the matrix organization of the function, the role will be the specialist in Sanofi products for the MCO.

In this role you will represent a consistent PC MAx country voice vis-à-vis the MCO Lead, the Market Access global teams country GM’s as well as other relevant MCO stakeholders.

You will act as a liaison between Global stakeholders and local organization(s) to secure a seamless operating model and escalation mechanism where relevant.

You will advise the country teams on the specific access strategy / initiatives / prioritization for the MCO, will ensure alignment between global and country access strategies, and will facilitate the tailoring / implementation of global access strategies at country and sub-national level.

You will act as a Market Access subject matter expert, including technical expertise and resource support for the local teams.

Functions and responsibilities

Coordinating above-country activities, including the mobilization of all relevant functions in response to :

  • product-based, access-related threats and opportunities.
  • market-based challenges and opportunities related to pricing & access policies / regulations (e.g. HTA implementation, IRP, price cuts, tenders, etc.).
  • Coordinating and supporting activities related to subnational and national access strategies and implementation in the MCO :

  • Working with country Max in the MCO to quantify P&L impact of policy changes.
  • Ensuring validation of country and product access plans including relevant KPIs.
  • Driving the implementation of market access projects not directly supported by Global Market Access for Sanofi.
  • Coordinating development of local payer materials and implementation of access programs / projects in the MCO, if needed.
  • Proactively monitoring external environment, customers and competitors to identify opportunities for protecting and improving access, contributing / feeding input into Region MAx work on mega trends.

    Fostering capability building and best practice sharing across the MCO :

  • Supporting the key talent development at the country level in conjunction with the Regional MAx Head and GMAx Academy, on the job coaching, and frequent interactions with country MAx teams.
  • Facilitating best practices sharing related to product / environment-based access solutions / approaching within the MCO and from outside, communicating best practices to the Global Market Access team through the GMAX Engagement Lead.


    Regular, close contact with :

  • Regional Market Access Head and Regional EA team (Public Affairs, Communication and EA Regional Head).
  • Regional Head and Regional teams in te CE / SE MCO.
  • Country, Regional and Global Market Access stakeholders, especially Value & Access and Pricing.
  • PC country, regional and global stakeholders.
  • Global Functions and relevant Business Partners.

    Regular, close contact with : Market Access stakeholders in the MCO and / or specific to Sanofi product portfolio.

    About you :

  • Education : Master degree in science or business related field (e.g. economics, pharmacy).
  • Experience :

  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in reimbursement / pricing / market access.
  • Previous experience in the MCO Markets would be a plus.
  • Special Knowledge & Qualifications :

  • Knowledge and experience in European trends and future challenges.
  • Solid understanding of Sanofi portfolio, related challenges and opportunities.
  • Ability to lead in a transversal matrix environment.
  • Strong communication and influence skills.
  • Adept in anticipating business and internal customers’ needs.
  • Aptitude to coach.
  • Strong understanding of the 7 Sanofi MAx competencies especially Healthcare System Knowledge, Access Strategy and Value Communication and Strategic Pricing and Contracting.
  • Comprehension and awareness of MAx best practices.
  • Strong leadership track record focused on solutions / accountability.
  • Strong business acumen.
