Line Up Aviation are currently looking for a CEO to join our client, an Airline located in Greece.

As CEO you will be accountable to the Board of Directors. In order to carry out duties you will need to possess a demonstrated track record in senior positions within the aviation industry.

The person will be responsible for the planning, coordination and direction of the organisation.

The successful candidate will have all the necessary authority and power that would allow him to manage the airline and the affairs of the organisation within a specified framework as set by the Board of Directors.

As CEO you will :

  • Be accountable to the Board of Directors.
  • Be responsible to abide to the direction and control of the Board of Directors and to the terms of any policies established by the board.
  • Be responsible to ensure the enforcement of the code of ethics and the reputation of the Cooperation.

  • In cooperation with the Board of Directors and other senior management, he will be planning, coordinating and directing all the activities of the airline.
  • He will be overseeing the budget, capital investment and the employees of the organisation.
  • Meet regularly with the airport authorities, other airline counterparts, the Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant authorities to attract new business and maintain good relationships.
  • The CEO in cooperation with the Board will convey and execute the vision of the airline.
  • The CEO will contribute to the growth of the airline by regularly meeting with other airlines.
  • In association with the board he will be responsible for the development and the implementation of the short and long-
  • term plan and strategy of the organisation.

  • The CEO will seek approval for any extra-ordinary major decisions outside the normal scope of business.
  • He will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the organisational performance and take corrective action in order to achieve the strategic objectives, capital budgets and operating plans.
  • The CEO will be responsible for the development and maintenance of an agile management group and organisational structure with management processes that would allow for the efficient use of human resources and capital.
  • Develop and maintain good communication links among the members of the management and the Board.
  • Lead the creation of healthy relationships amongst the staff, the customers, the suppliers and any other agents or stakeholders.
  • Foster a strong culture of safety in the corporation.
  • Stimulate the moral and productivity of subordinates.
  • Recognise and meet the organisation’s social responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate communication policies and procedures for the airline, while serving effectively as the key spokesperson for the cooperation and the chief liaison with the industry and the public.
  • Develop and maintain an insight into and deep knowledge and understanding of the socioeconomic, political and environmental parameters in which the organisation is operating within.
  • Facilitate the Board’s performance and its duties by keeping the board fully informed in an efficient, effective and timely manner for any and all events that could reasonably be expected to significantly impact the organisation, its performance and prospects.
  • Provide any assistance as necessary to the chair of the board and the chair of any committee of the board that would allow them to carry out their duties.

  • Proven work experience in senior leadership positions within the airline industry.
  • Post graduate qualifications in Business Administration, Management, Economics or any other related field.
  • Demonstrable success as a head of a key function with proven track record in delivering against set targets and overcoming significant obstacles.
  • Sound understanding of corporate finance and performance management.
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions which include but are not limited to marketing, product development, PR, finance and economics.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Educated to an MBA level.
  • Fluency in Greek.
  • Good knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial mind set with exceptional organisational and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
