Job Brief and Purpose

  • The Membership department is responsible for selecting and retaining all members for the house. With a detailed knowledge of the Soho House Group and its concept, you will carry out duties as directed by your managers;
  • with a professional approach towards our guests, members and other employees.

    Main Duties and Tasks :

  • Work closely with the Membership Manager, House Relations Manager, GM and other key players involved
  • Utilize your extensive and varied personal network of contacts to generate opportunities for events programming
  • Create a well-balanced monthly members events program, providing a mixture of creative and engaging fields (film, music, art, literature, culinary, fashion, etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate event programming, taking seasonal holidays, bank holidays and celebrations into account
  • Liaise with involved department heads to ensure operationally excellent execution of events
  • Observe local and national trends in the events sector and incorporate them in in your events program
  • Secure bookings for the house agree on details with event providers, reserve locations / spaces, negotiate on timetables, special F&B related requests, invoicing and prepare event briefing sheet
  • Manage the member events programming budget closely ensure that the events are in line with the budget and that potential return on investment (financially, members return, etc.) is estimated
  • Attend member events personally supervise attendance, observe type of members attending, gauge success, evaluate and share feedback
  • Play a central role in internal communication in promoting member events. Manage the event calendar listings, editorials, images and video footages to all Soho House channels, such as e.
  • g. House Seven, Workplace by Facebook, etc.

  • Evaluate, follow up and gather feedback to constantly improve the monthly events programming calendar
  • Liaise with the Membership team to identify (committee) members from the entertainment and / or events industry
  • Exchange ideas, contacts, strategy and best practices with the group events programming colleagues
  • Monitor competitors in your field of expertise closely and ensure our leading status
  • Complete two shifts on the floor at the Club per week in order to engage with members
  • Assist the EU marketing team in the implementation of regional and local strategy
  • Manage the content capture and social media coverage of key events at Soho Roc House
  • Brief, produce and distribute promotional collateral on site
  • Be the onsite point of contact for partners, international and local press
  • Responsibilities

  • Assist in the training / onboarding of new team members
  • Attend and participate in internal and external trainings (where necessary)
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing as needed
  • Be proactive in looking for any cost saving opportunities within the department (i.e. through controlling wastage and utilities)
  • Adhere to good safety practices and be aware of departmental HACCP, Health & Safety, Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments including supporting all co-workers, treating them with dignity and respect
  • Maintain the highest level of appearance at all times
  • Carry out any reasonable task as requested by management and supervisors
  • Requirements

  • Physically fit as the job involves manual labour over long hours
