MAKE IT#1 Group wide digital transformation is reshaping Imerys Digital landscape, encompassing 5 pillars : a set of common language and processes, a global ERP Core Model S4 / Hana based, a common collaboration platform (GNOC, GSOC, unified WAN) and a common unified IT organization.

MAKE IT #1 aims at implementing common IT Tools for our business units / divisions. In order to enable seamless development and roll out of these new tools, Imerys IT is also evolving from IT division centric organization to a more integrated IT with strong regional IT platform.

EMEA IT RCC (Regional Competency Center) implements and enforces standards and policies as defined by the Group. EMEA IT RCC designs, deploys and supports regional and division specific solutions and applications.

This position is part of EMEA IT RCC organization in Infrastructure team.

The IT Infrastructure System Administrator participate in the team that designs, configures, and supports physical and cloud based internal and external networks, servers, and storage solutions as well as all corporate applications and systems.

He has a global view over his workloads to ensure capacity management .


  • User number : 5 000 IT users
  • Server number : 800 owned
  • Data Centers : 4 Regional, 8 BU shared, 50 Computer rooms
  • Applicative map : 20 central applications, 50 local applications
  • Project number (functional / technical) : 5 projects per year, including 2 major projects per year
  • Team size : 5 to 10

  • Install and manage servers and fix possible issues,
  • Take care of escalated tickets (Support or services requests) on systems,
  • Manage backups and restorations.
  • Assist in server configuration (hardware and software) depending on projects,
  • Assist in the server virtualization,
  • Participate in the improvement of the Headquarters computer rooms or Datacenters of the zone,
  • Assist in sites integration projects in Imerys IT,
  • Participate in the operation of Asset management tool (computer inventory, software deployment, patch management).
  • Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application, and IT Support team to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business demands,
  • Participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client / server environment,

  • Hierarchically attached to the IT RCC System Admin Leader
  • Interact with Architects and Experts in each Service Lines
  • Regional IT Teams or administrators to coordinate actions
  • Address Group level Infrastructure Manager when necessary
  • Participate to project steering committee meetings in his perimeter

    Education and Experience requirements


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
  • 10 years of professional hands-on experience with infrastructure system management
  • Experience in project management
  • Extensive experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems / applications
  • Fluent or native English speaker
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure standards and good practice
  • Infrastructure risk management and security competencies
  • Desirable

  • Knowledge of Imerys internal organization
  • Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company
  • Conversant in French or another European language would be advantageous

  • International travels around Europe may require a physical effort associated with luggage and professional computer transportation.
