Being part of the Big Data Squad, the Analytics & Billing Engineer will design, implement, and maintain data pipelines from various data sources in order to feed data to Google Cloud Platform.
The role is accountable to work closely with Product Owner to understand business needs and objectives as well as with Big Data engineers to ensure the smooth data feed to GCP.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
Work closely with Product Owner, Solution Architect and Big Data Engineers to develop new flows and migrate the existing to GCP.
Participate in reviewing appropriate architecture (and other technical solutions) and in making recommendations to Business.
Participate in reviewing requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendation documents in order to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Be responsible for test & development environments required for project delivery.
Promote cooperation and commitment within the team to achieve goals and deliverables
Core competencies, experience and knowledge :
At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology
Strong knowledge in SQL, tuning skills and Oracle database design
Experience handling large data sets using SQL and databases in a business environment
Knowledge of the following tools : SAP BO, Oracle ODI, Oracle GG
Knowledge of the Telco Industry and its products
Solid knowledge of OLAP technologies and BI Analytics, along with an understanding of different data warehousing and dimensional modelling concepts
Knowledge of Data streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming) will be appreciated
Higher education in Computer Science or a related field
Behaviours and Other competencies :
Experience working with Agile methodologies / in Agile teams will be an advantage.
Excellent analytical, technical, and problem- solving skills, with high-level of creativity.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated with strong time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both Greek & English.
