As ( Senior) PHP Developer (m / f / d) you will be joining our Customer Care Tech tribe working together with more than 200 talented engineers of our tech department designing, developing and maintaining complex web application and services for our eCommerce platform.
The team you will join is responsible for the main tools for the Customer Care teams, including the infrastructure powering our Westwing chatbot.
These applications consist of several microservices. This position is unlimited.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
write software mainly using PHP on the backend and JavaScript / React on the frontend. We use hexagonal architecture and Symfony, with a bit of Yii in the legacy parts, as well as MySQL databases and RabbitMQ
follow an Agile process with your team, planning and implementing the features and technical projects balanced well in the team backlog
work among people with the philosophy You build it, you run it’ getting as much exposure to the DevOps side of things as you’re willing to have (we will only encourage that).
By the way, we are running our services fully on AWS, in a K8S cluster
take part in team events, team lunches, Westwing parties and many other activities of your choice your fellow Westwingers are arranging
YOU COME WITH
knowledge of most of the following keywords : PHP 8, Symfony, Yii Framework, PHPUnit, PHPCS, PHP CS Fixer, Gitlab CI, API (REST, JSON), Docker, HTML5, SASS, JS
nice to have : React, ES6+, AWS, Kubernetes
several years of experience in development with PHP OOP (Yii / Symfony / Laravel / Zend Framework experience is a plus) and experience with MySQL
ability to convert your ideal solution for a given problem into PHP code covered with the right amount of tests and to put it inside a Docker image
a proactive, goal-oriented, reliable and self-structured way of working
fluency in English
