The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG is a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing and building the TAP natural gas pipeline.
TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline will transport gas from the Turkish-Greek border via Greece and Albania across the Adriatic Sea into Italy.
The pipeline terminates at the pipeline receiving terminal (PRT) in Melendugno where the gas is tied in into the Snam Rete Gas (SRG) Network.
The Electrical Specialist shall be the Operations Technical Authority responsible for the timely development and implementation of General Electrical Strategies;
ensuring that supporting processes and systems are established to manage and optimise production, reliability and availability of TAP assets.
Reporting directly to the Technical & Asset Integrity Manager, the Electrical Specialist is accountable for providing technical assurance for the operation and maintenance of the Company’s electrical systems required for the operation of the Pipeline Receiving Terminal, Compressor Stations, Block Valve Stations, Transmission Pipeline and Control Rooms.
The Electrical Specialist shall be the focal point and actively manage the long-term supply agreements with external energy providers ensuring a safe, cost efficient and reliable supply of external electrical power.
The Electrical specialist shall provide oversight for contracts with vendors / suppliers of back-up electrical power generation / distribution units and associated systems.
The Electrical Specialist will support al operating country organisations and contracted resources in addressing all technical issues connected to electrical power generation and distribution, improving performance, providing technical guidance and direction and where required lead failure investigations.
The Electrical Specialist shall engage with external parties including shareholders, equipment & service providers, industry technical bodies, local electrical power supply organisations as required to drive continuous improvement.
On engagement, the holder will be based in Athens but in the steady state may travel to TAP Headquarters in Switzerland, as well as in other countries that TAP operates.
Act as the Technical Authority for all electrical facilities including but not limited to Grid Connections (up to 35 KV), Overhead Power lines, Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, transformers, 400V AC Systems (main power);
UPS (230V Single Phase, 110V DC & 24V DC), earthing & lightning protection, diesel generators, emergency lighting and electrical connections to all process equipment
Ensure that all Electrical systems continue to meet company requirements in terms of reliability, availability and maintainability
Ensure that Electrical Safety Critical Elements are effectively managed and that Performance Standards are met.
Define Safe Electrical Isolation practices to be incorporated in Company Procedures and the Permit to Work Systems and sign off complex electrical isolation method statements where required
Custodian of all electrical documentation including SLD’s, electrical load lists, specifications, cable drawings, load calculations, test procedures and work instructions Ensure documentation is up to date and continues to satisfy all relevant international and national regulatory and statutory requirements for the operating business
Support the definition of annual and multi-year inspection, testing and maintenance plans for the asset electrical systems.
Maintain the hierarchy and taxonomy of electrical equipment in the Maintenance Master Equipment List.
Contribute to the asset warehousing, inventory, sparing, and logistics strategies for electrical equipment
Oversight responsibility for ensuring all electrical equipment located in hazardous areas have correct 'ex' rating for the correct hazardous zone and are installed and maintained in accordance with current procedures and standards.
Provide oversight to assure that all electrical testing, inspection and maintenance is carried out in a timely manner and in line with expected quality standards and outputs are accurately recorded in the company’s work management and integrity IT Systems.
Technical reviewer and authoriser for safety critical deferrals for electrical equipment
Technical reviewer and authoriser in management of change activities, ensuring that the electrical equipment within technical remit is not compromised by physical, procedural or organisational changes
Audit the quality of electrical work carried out by the contractor
Work closely with the Corporate and Country Maintenance Teams to define Shutdown Scope to optimise functional testing and maintenance of production impacting safety and protective devices and minimise down time
Support the development and award of long-term power supply agreements. Provisionally assume the role of Company Contract Owner and provide oversight to the country teams in the management of the contract
Support in country teams in electrical matters, provide guidance, coaching and where required support the Company Competence Management System (TAP CMS)
Disseminate lessons learned, knowledge and best practice from industry sources. Keep up to date to with industry developments, and emerging modern technologies
Develop a set of Electrical KPIs to be incorporated in the Company Asset Integrity Scorecard to be provided monthly, quarterly and annually to the Operations Leadership Team.
Lead, or provide technical support, for electrical incident and failure investigation. Drive small internal or external teams to address and rectify technical issues connected to electrical systems
Review and Sign off the scopes of work for specific Electrical activities to be conducted by specialists or external vendors as required.
Prepare technical specifications and data sheets.

Language Skills :
English (advanced level written and spoken)
Proficiency in any other language (Italian, Albanian) would be an advantage.
Professional Experience :
10-12 years’ supervisory / frontline Electrical Power Generation and Distribution
Good understanding of electrical safety, safe systems of work, electrical isolation control methods and job safety analysis
Experience of performing a technical authority role or senior technically accountable role.
Some instrumentation knowledge would be preferred
Recent and relevant experience in refinery / petrochemicals / energy industries in specifying, selecting, testing and handling operating and maintenance issues of Electrical systems.
Extensive experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role for medium voltage power generation, and distribution systems
Extensive experience of managing the maintenance of Hazardous area equipment
Experience working with Turbo-Compressors control systems preferred
Education background / Additional Qualifications :
University Degree in electrical or industrial power generation / engineering
Field experience with electrical generation and distribution systems. Specific vendor and company training
Preferentially recognised by a relevant professional industry body and has achieved a standing equivalent to European Engineer as granted by a national member of the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI)
Working knowledge of relevant national and international electrotechnical standards : ATEX 135 Directive, EN 50110, EN 60529, EN 60947, EN 62271
Valid driving license
