The IFRS Accountant will be a key member of the Accounting team and the primary person responsible for maintaining and preparing the financial consolidation on a quarterly and annual basis.
Successful candidate is involved in enhancing, optimizing and maintaining processes in the accounting consolidation and ensuring the consolidated financial statements are accurate and in compliance with IFRS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Accurately maintains complex accounting records and performs all related accounting functions.
Understands and maintains current accounting policies and practices
Ensures that all accounting entries and reports are completed on a timely and accurate basis in accordance with IFRS and company policies and procedures.
Analyze, prepare and review monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance with IFRS and company policies and procedures.
Perform and manage consolidations, including preparation of consolidating entries (e.g., elimination entries, e.tc.), ensure timely resolve of issues and ensure historical data (including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow information) is being accurately accumulated and reported as required through critical analysis
Prepare consolidating entries, including profit eliminations between consolidated subsidiaries and unconsolidated investees.
Perform intercompany elimination entries and follow up and resolve problem issues
Provide support to Reporting, Billing & Finance Business Partners validating financial data included within reporting packages
Responsible for maintaining and closing the general ledger and certain sub-ledgers.
Work closely with and provide support to external auditors
Provide general support to Corporate Accounting and others as required, including research and implementation of IFRS and disclosure issues and the preparation of ad hoc reports.
Resolves routine personnel issues. Allocates and reviews work. Guides and advises subordinates.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. MBA or CPA preferred.
Big 4 experience as well as SAP knowledge are a plus.
Minimum requirement of 5 years of accounting experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
Very strong in depth knowledge of IFRS.
Excellent communication, organization and follow up skills.
Capable of completing work assignments independently or with minimal supervision / guidance on complex issues. Able to manage own time and other's time to meet objectives.
Ability to manage effectively in environment requiring the administration and completion of multiple tasks simultaneously.
