In response to the continuous regulatory and accounting changes in the financial services industry, our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team within EY is leading various accounting changes / conversion engagements in top tier banks, insurance and industry companies.
Our clients look to us as trusted consultants, and as a FAAS professional, you will be at the heart of that goal. You will provide accounting advisory services encompassing support in the implementation of new accounting and regulatory standards in the key sectors of Banking and Insurance (IFRS 9 / 15 / 17, Solvency II);
improvement of reporting processes such as fast close and business intelligence projects; GAAP conversion and implementation;
on call financial reporting advice; accounting / reporting processes and controls support assistance.

We are currently seeking Junior and Experienced Consultants to join the team. As FAAS professional you will have a great opportunity to expand your technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge and skills, work on different projects across the financial services sector and frequently work with other service lines.

Your key responsibilities :
The nature of this role means no project will be the same. You will work on the implementation of new International Financial Reporting Standards in the Financial Services sector such as IFRS 17 and IFRS 9, perform research and prepare technical papers to provide advisory services to clients on complex accounting matters, primarily in the insurance sector, and financial instruments related issues;
participate in the execution of a variety of projects, regulatory driven reporting, general business process and controls advice.
That means you need to think outside the box, be creative and solutions oriented, challenge existing practices and be adaptable to change.

To qualify for the role you must have :
Excellent academic background including a bachelor’s and / or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
Ability and comfort in researching technical emerging issues (including regulations and industry practices) and report writing
Excellent written and verbal communication in Greek and English
Results-oriented approach with keen attention to high quality and accuracy
Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Flexibility to travel in accordance with client and other job requirements both locally and internationally
Fulfilled military obligations (where applicable)
Ideally you will also have :
IFRS 17 and / or Solvency II implementation experience
Working experience in consulting / professional services or an operational role within an insurance company
Practical experience with financial / management accounting reporting
PhD or working towards gaining ACCA or CFA
