Spark (master)
The IT Data Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining solution that deliver data across the Aviva Life and Group organisations.
The big data consultant roles sits within our development teams driving out low level solution and implementing high quality ETL, Data Lake / Data Warehouse, Big data, BI solution in Amazon Cloud spanning across multiple project to ensure we meet the business need through careful technology and tools selection aligned to the data strategy.
What will you be doing?
Consulting on new change initiatives
Big data solution design in a multi project environment
Development team leadership and coaching
Sizing and quoting for new projects
Innovation of tooling and big data techniques
Self service implementation and optimisation
Embedding data strategy and building out the data lake to meet needs of growing user community
What we’re looking for?
Master communicator
Self-starter who can work at a managerial level
Able to lead developers through the development life cycle
Well-disciplined in managing multiple strands of work / projects
Able to work confidently with end users to illicit requirements
Able to present technical concepts at a level understood by senior mgmt. / stakeholders
Great all round team player with strong comms skills
People management experience desirable but not essential
Previous worked in financial services and / or aware of the life and pensions industry
Experience in designing and implementing big data solutions with cloud based tooling such as :
Scala (Java environment) / Spark
Linux Shell
Preferable designing and implementing experience :
General AWS knowledge
Amazon Redshift, S3
SnowFlake
