1.Background DRC has been operating in Greece since November 2015, providing support to the Greek Ministry of Migration Policy in ensuring dignified reception conditions for refugees and migrants arriving on Lesvos island.

In March 2016, DRC expanded its operations in Athens, in response to the changing context and the build-up of refugee population on mainland Greece.

2.Purpose DRC Greece is looking to recruit a qualified, flexible and enthusiastic professional to work for its operations in North Greece, as a MEL Assistant.

Under the supervision of the MEL Officer, the MEL Assistant is responsible for the implementation of pre- and post-intervention data collection, both quantitative and qualitative and directly liaising with the DRC programme’s beneficiaries.

She / he will also support the MEL Officer with data consolidation, analysis and reporting and actively participate in the dissemination of the findings as planned by the M&E Officer for the projects in DRC Greece at North.

3.Duties & Responsibilities The main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following :

  • Support the development of data collection tools, such as questionnaires, checklists etc.
  • Administer surveys, conduct interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs) and any other data-collection techniques necessary
  • Give feedback and make recommendations for the constant improvement of the data collection tools and methods
  • Ensure the safe storage and archiving of the databases under her / his responsibility
  • Support the MEL Officer in data analysis and report-writing as required
  • Participate in the findings’ dissemination to programme teams, as well as to various stakeholders
  • Accompany the programme teams during key moments of our interventions offering technical support in putting in place previous recommendations
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or line manager, relevant to the achievement of DRC Greece objectives 4.Required Qualifications
  • University degree in international development, behavioral / social sciences a strong advantage
  • Excellent Kurdish (Kurmanji and / or Sorani) or Farsi / Dari language skills and English a must
  • MS Office computer skills, especially Excel is a prerequisite
  • Knowledge of SPSS, ODK, NVivo, KoboToolbox or similar software highly desirable
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques, including surveys, interviews, FGD, observations etc.
  • Familiarity with gender and protection mainstreaming in humanitarian programmes an advantage 5.Required Skills & Qualities

  • The contract will be under the Greek Labor Law (this is a national position)
  • All allowances will be provided to the employees (Christmas, Easter, Vacation bonus)

  • The position will be based in the broader area of Thessaloniki (North Greece) with roving possibilities around Central Greece and national terms and conditions apply.
