Job Skills :
Able to communicate clearly in and possess a good command of verbal and written English and Greek. Additional language skills (French or Italian) would be a distinct advantage and benefit
A minimum of 2 years experience working within a 4 / 5* establishment as Maitre D’ or 3 years as Head Waiter / ess
Excellent Customer Service Skills and ability to understand and respond to individual guests needs and requirements
A genuine interest and understanding in food and drink wine and cocktail knowledge is essential. Exceptional communication and presentational skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to think on your feet and under pressure whilst maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail.
Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure work load is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately. Ability to multitask
Ability to work as part of a small team and independently and use initiative
A natural ability and confidence to sell / promote is a distinct
A degree of flexibility is required within this important role and will include the following tasks on a daily / weekly basis
Job Role :
Showing guests to tables during Lunch & Dinner service. Greeting and escorting guests with a professional and positive attitude
Oversea the flow of guests within the restaurant. Manage the reservations and shift team
Liaise between kitchen staff and floor staff. Maintain ambience of restaurant lighting, music, cleanliness, hygiene
Oversea and pro-actively deal with guest queries and complaints
Advising guests on menus & beverage choices.
Checking and dealing with guests Special Occasion arrangements eg.Birthdays, Anniversaries, Honeymoons, Weddings. Promote special In House events eg.
Winemakers Dinners , Cocktails, Tasting sessions
Computer & Literacy Skills :
Experience of a good working knowledge and of using a computerized ordering system. Basic maths and financial calculations.
Personality : Outgoing, confident, positive, focused, mature, reliable, empathetic, attentive, discreet, responsible and accountable, team player but equally able to work independently and without supervision, well presented.
