u-blox Athens is looking for a talented engineer specialized in Digital IC Design to join an international team focused on the design, development and verification of next-generation SoCs in positioning and cellular.

To work within the u-blox team you need to be creative, innovative, and enthusiastic about new technologies, always committed and striving for excellence.

You will work on real-life project tasks, enjoying help and guidance of experienced engineers. Through teamwork, training and dedication to personal development, you will enrich your knowledge about different aspects of designing complex SoCs, contribute to various project tasks, and eventually develop yourself into an expert in the digital IC design field.

Being a Digital IC Design Engineer your key responsibilities will be to specify, design, implement and verify complex digital blocks / IPs, assisting at the same time in assembling complete systems on chip from IPs.

You will be assigned a wide span of tasks from specification over RTL coding to verification of the design. Moreover, you should be responsible to plan, track and report activities related to the implementation of the digital blocks / IPs, working together with the rest of the design and verification team so as to meet the targeted specifications.

Your Responsibilities

Digital Design (RTL) of complex digital blocks and / or IPs

Contribute in Requirements / Specification analysis and architecture definition

Ensure performance to specification, readiness for production and propose design optimizations (area, timing, power)

Digital block / IP testbench-based verification using employing coverage-driven verification techniques

Contribute to the IP top-level integration and FPGA prototyping for early IP testing in FPGA

IP API development for testing purposes (SoC-level simulation and FPGA)

Third party IP evaluation and selection

Plan, track, and report for the key IP activities

Technical Reporting, both written (documentation) and oral (English language)

IP Protection (Patent application & research)

Your Qualifications

PhD / MSc or BSc in electrical, electronic or computer engineering

3+ years of experience in digital design using ASIC and / or FPGA flow

Excellent digital design skills, including algorithmic-based and circuit-based optimization techniques for high-throughput / low-area designs

Experience in design of multiple clock and power domain architectures

Experience in algorithmic modeling using C, Matlab, or Python

Experience to static and formal verification techniques and technologies

Exposure to power management techniques for low-power architectures

Experience in integration of commercial, 3rd party IPs (Embedded CPUs, SoC interconnects, DMAs, peripherals, co-processors, memories, etc)

Exposure to security / cryptography mechanisms / algorithms will be considered a plus

Exposure to wireless communication systems and in particular : Wi-Fi, LTE, GPS / GNSS will be considered a plus

Familiar with Unix environment and shell programming / scripting (C-shell, Tcl, Perl, Python)

Experience with version control systems (Perforce, GIT, or SVN)
