The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating activities in maintenance to ensure safe production standards are met in a timely manner.
She / he will be responsible for carrying out managerial / supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include planning, leading, directing and assigning work; training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and counselling employees when necessary to maintain a high standard of employee relations.
Lead a team of Maintenance Mechanics & Electricians in predictive & preventative maintenance and machine repair.
Owns Breakdown Elimination, Defect Handling, & Planning and Scheduling. Coaches teams through effective execution of these processes and build capability and ownership of these systems down to the team level over time
Responsible for the development, implementation and day to day supervision of maintenance systems, processes and documentation associated with efficient and high performing manufacturing organizations (Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOP’s, Safety, etc.).
Ensure maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and work closely with production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
Develop and / or maintain Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function
Provide long term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.
Provide regular status reports to the maintenance management team.
Meet with each shift daily to review work completed and provide direction and follow up
Support off shift critical work and emergency repairs were required
Identify gaps and roadblocks to the successful execution of line maintenance plans and develop plans to close gaps
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Electrical Engineering required.
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in food / beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
Able to monitor and operate in a 24 / 7 working environment
Understand TPM and continuous improvement methods
Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive / predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory and scheduling software, preferred.
Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management skills, decision making, empowerment and delegation), preferred.
Able to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues.
Effective communication skills both verbal and written and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Good planning and priority setting skills.
Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department.
