The Cloud Engineer (AWS) plays a central role in Samba TV’s ongoing advancement and transformation of its cloud environment and to serve as part of its Cloud Governance team.
Samba is continuously developing the technological robustness of its cloud infrastructure to support its future technologies, as well as its commitment to the ISO 27001 and SOC standards.
The Cloud Engineer will be working cross-departmentally with different teams to ensure the integrity and improvement of Samba’s cloud infrastructure as well as track and manage overall cloud usage and costs.
Objectives of this Role :
Define and document best security practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance, including introduction of tooling to optimize development, performance, and availability of Samba’s technologies
Support deployment of the workloads in the public cloud
Provide essential and continuous support to teams for EKS migration for non-containerized applications and systems
Build and maintain automated auditing tools to track company security violations, vulnerabilities, and cloud spending
Manage and support enforcement of company cloud environments in accordance with internal security policies and ISO 27001 requirements
Advance continuing implementation of the optimal AWS cloud-based security solutions for the company
Provisioning and de-provisioning AWS accounts for internal customers
Work alongside systems and development teams to support transition and operation of web sites / applications / services in and out of AWS
Deploying, managing, and operating AWS environments
Deploying, managing and operating AWS managed services
Identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices
Estimating AWS costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms
Keep technical documentation up to date
Proactively keep up to date on AWS services and developments.Create (where appropriate) automation, in order to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes
Manage and develop Samba TV’s AWS networking, including AWS Direct Connect and Route53.Manage Samba TV’s EKS and EMR clusters
Participate in the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, quality assurance and deployment
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
Educate teams on the implementation of security components of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
