Under direction of Aircraft Attendant 2 or supervision by departmental administrator performs line services for airport and aircraft & maintains related records;
performs minor equipment maintenance.
Adheres to all OSHA and / or Ohio University required safety guidelines.
Operates fuel trucks and pump stations to service aircraft, maintains service for other related records (i.e., fuel and oil intake records, daily accounting records and sales), and provides all other available products and services to the general public.
Operates ground towing equipment (i.e., tugs), heating and auxiliary power units, snow removal equipment, large tractors, front end-
loaders, mowing equipment, forklifts, and any other equipment as appropriate.
Performs ground support activities at airport, including snow removal on all pavement, mowing grass on all landscaped areas including areas for push mowing, tractor, bush hogging, weeding, and foreign object debris (FOD) removal.
Completes other landscaping tasks as directed.
Cleans interior and exterior of Ohio University aircraft. Services and performs minor maintenance on ground support equipment, performs work related miscellaneous tasks, and performs building custodial tasks for hangars and hangar office.
Provides customer service support for purchases of fuel, oil, tie-down, ramp service, pilot supplies.
Trains, assists, and monitors student employees in the performance of their duties.
Performs other related duties as required.
Demonstrated skill in operation of fuel truck and general aircraft servicing (i.e., servicing tires, refueling / defueling, servicing oil);
Previous experience in operation of large equipment (i.e., snow removal equipment, large tractors, front end-loaders, mowing equipment, forklifts and any other equipment as appropriate);
Operation of ground towing equipment (i.e., tug);
Ability to carry out detailed but basic instructions in written, oral, and pictorial form;
Read copy and record figures accurately;
Read and write common vocabulary in sentence structure;
Add subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, calculate fractions, decimals and percentages;
Ability to apply principles and solve practical problems;
Ability to work independently or with others; work alone on most tasks;
Demonstrate willingness to work with diverse populations;
Demonstrate physical fitness and agility;
Knowledge of all applicable OSHA and / or Ohio University safety guidelines and procedures;
Lift up to 50 lbs.;
Valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in accordance with section 4506.01 of revised code and any other applicable sections;
Hazard Material and Tanker endorsement;
Valid Driver’s License;
Renewal of CDL, as necessary, if required based on vehicles operated;
Successful completion of a written and / or practical test may be required;
Works outside exposed to weather; exposed to fumes, noise dust, grease & dirt; may be exposed to moving aircraft.
Skill in operating cash register and credit card machines*
Interpreting airport weather data and transmitting that information to pilots via UNICOM*
Operation of heating and auxiliary power units is preferred.
