Beat is currently available in Greece, Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico and has a Tech Innovation and Engineering Hub in the Netherlands.

About the role

You are a creative thinker and strategic leader who can drive great customer experience and business growth through operational insights, ecosystem optimisation, and behavioural models.

Working at the junction of customer analytics and systems optimisation, you will manage / mentor analysts and data science to uncover business opportunities based on patterns in both individual and group dynamics.

You have passion for the ride-sharing industry and believe in the impact it creates in every part of the world. Through continuing growth and adaptation, you will drive the future evolution of the industry, advising Beat on its investment strategy and service transformation.

Your impact will be truly global as you will work in diverse teams across Europe and Latin America, with the goal to grow Beat’s business and enhance a frictionless experience for both riders and drivers.

This role reports into the VP Data.

About the team

The Data team comprises analysts, applied scientists, and engineers with a mandate to enable all corners of the company to exploit data models & customer insights.

We extract deep insights, develop predictive models, and run simulations in order to understand the complex system that is urban mobility and translate this into optimised customer experience, optimised ecosystem revenue, and ideation on new business models.

This includes projects in customer segmentation, customer journey, pricing, supply / demand, routing, growth, personalisation, and experimentation.

What you'll do day in day out :

  • Manage, mentor, grow a team of talented analysts and data scientists across two functional domains : Marketplace and Tesla
  • Operationally lead the team in developing deep insights into our customers, business operations, and product usage
  • Translate these insights into operational and business models that optimise / grow the driver / passenger / urban ecosystem
  • Strategically work with the VP Data to build a program of predictive models and simulations to evolve the ecosystem into a resilient and adaptive market
  • Work closely with functional partners on component topics - Pricing, Dispatch, Routing, Product - to assess and improve current processes
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders to drive informed business decisions. Communicate key metrics and insights to management
  • Support the continuous improvement of our reporting / analytics framework, suggesting new perspectives and new data models, and educate business stakeholders
  • Embrace and evangelise a data-driven culture across the organization
  • Explore new opportunities for Beat and our users by following industry and technology trends
  • What you need to have :

  • 4+ years of experience managing analytical teams
  • 10+ years of experience in a quantitative or analytical role in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
  • Experience in ride-hailing, logistics, delivery, or similar is highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s and / or Master’s Degree in Economics, Physics, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative field
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and databases is highly desirable
  • Experience with Python or R is highly desirable
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent multitasking skills to manage multiple projects across various teams and topics
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals from varying backgrounds and skill sets
