As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for proactively monitoring, managing, and administering production databases to ensure they perform at an optimum level.
Key Accountabilities :
Deploying and maintaining production environments that require high availability, monitoring servers to proactively identify performance issues, and problematic trends, and troubleshoot / escalate to resolve as appropriate
Driving the product towards higher availability and reliability
Ensuring services meet stability, performance, and availability requirements
Building robust, self-healing features and automation that reduce operational effort and improve service uptime
Working with global R&D and Cloud Services to help design and develop deployment automation procedures for new cloud service offerings
Assisting Development and Support with troubleshooting customer’s issues related to performance, product usability, or service availability
Working under pressure in production environments running production customer workloads and services
The ideal candidate has :
3+ years of experience in PostgreSQL support work and database performance tuning
Strong backup and restore experience
Strong SQL Query tuning and development experience and troubleshooting skills
Experience in one of the following Scripting Languages- Python, Bash
Replication and failover experience
User and object permission management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
It is a strong plus if you have :
Experience in Financial markets and familiarity with financial applications
