We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the food industry. Our client is looking to add a strong Technical Project Manager to their team.

Technical Project Manager

The role

he Technical Project Manager is responsible for the design and execution of capital projects in client’s plants with guidance from the Technical Director.

Will have full responsibility for projects as assigned and may be asked to join larger project teams for major expansion projects.

Typical projects include process improvement, building renovation, utility upgrades, and asset replacements. Technical Project Manager will also support Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering in resolving technical issues throughout the plant related to equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements;
  • reviewing bids from contractors.

  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, manufacturing requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies;
  • preparing cost estimates.

  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Work with and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Plan and drive continuous improvement projects with key decision-makers to recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for the organization
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Leads handoff from the project team to the operations team once acceptance testing is complete
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’’s degree in engineering
  • Graduate studies in business, management, or engineering desired.
  • Food processing experience is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience including project management, process or facility design and contractor management in a process environment.
  • Proven management experience of large, complex, multi-million euros projects is required.
  • Must be well rounded with a grasp of many engineering disciplines, construction disciplines, as well as plant operation
  • Ability to manage extremely complex projects from concept to completion
  • Ability to lead the project team to the successful development of project scope and implementation of the project.
  • Strong organizational skills.
