The Serialization Site Solutions Team is responsible for the implementation strategy, build, testing and integration of the Plant Track and Trace System (PTTS) and related services across all Pfizer sites.

The candidate within the PGS - Digital Serialization Site Solutions Team will be responsible for the Optel applications and will be accountable for the overall solution, vendor management, technology architecture, design, development, configurations and integration of all interfaces between PTTS, Tracelink, Serialization Program Data Manager (SPDM) and / or other systems such as SAP.


  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance site solution serialization systems business value
  • Work closely with the Market Customer Engagement Team (MCE), Pfizer Global Engineering and site automation groups to design, develop, build and test standard PTTS functionality and integration components
  • Introduce and enhance Serialization Site Solutions integration with external systems (e.g. automated master data and work order integration)
  • Vendor engagement - provide input and influence product development, including membership of any vendor customer product roadmaps teams
  • Manage core solutions development and testing environments including hardware and software
  • Manage and support offshore deployment of the Pfizer Core Serialization Plant Track and Trace solution (PTTS) to Pfizer sites globally
  • Manage offshore validation of deployed solutions following GMP regulatory compliance processes
  • Ensure compliance with global standards for application development, including documentation standards as per Good Manufacturing Processes.
  • Overall accountability for PTTS Systems Support, utilizing and liaising with the shared services support function (BTAMS) and serving as level 4 support
  • Server Upgrade and Patching, Operating System upgrades, Minimum Security Baseline (MSB) implementations (MSB scan and security updates), Network Maintenance, Recovery Time Objective (RTO) rating upgrade, Application Discovery Recovery Plan (ADRP) Maintenance and Data archival management

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related degree
  • 5 years' experience in IT system design and / or delivery, 3+ years in Pharma
  • A thorough understanding of packaging line automation and systems
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server
  • Experience in all stages of system and application lifecycle from value analysis, business case development, solution deployment through to value realization and system retirement
  • A thorough understanding of system GMP requirements in detailed knowledge of IT system design and the maintenance lifecycle in GMP environments
  • Strong team orientation with broad knowledge of manufacturing / logistics technologies and development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to operate in a global multi-cultural environment of time zones and requirements
  • Previous configuration and implementation experience of one or more of the existing applications (Systech, PCE, Optel and Sea Vision)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge or familiarity with various technologies including web services, integration and middleware products, relational database systems (MS SQL Server) and other related infrastructure components
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English)
  • History of good relationship building and collaborations
  • Strong business case development capabilities
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills

  • Previous configuration and implementation experience with the Optel application will carry an added advantage
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycles using agile principles and DevOps practices
  • Experience will show a proven track record of organizing the delivery of systems, quality and / or process documentation, using structured work practices to ensure a very high-quality end result.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with the production support process, including tasks, escalation routes, communications, and other related activities
