Solar PV Design Engineers Renewable Energy Projects

Critical analysis of project documentation to understand project design requirements - including planning documents, Client specifications, and research into local codes and standards in order to incorporate them into the design process.
Design of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects from 10-200MW to include :
Electrical Engineers :
Preliminary layout of PV modules across site plots / fields
Preliminary electrical configuration and single line diagram (SLD)
Preliminary energy studies (using PVSYST)
Interact with main equipment suppliers to answer and close technical queries in order to select equipment and proceed to orders
Requests for quotation (RFQs) to Suppliers in conjunction with the Construction Team
Executive design to include layouts, SLD, PVSYST, bill of materials, all construction details
Preparation of all documentation for technical due diligence with the Client’s Technical Advisor (in conjunction with the Project Manager)
Construction support to the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and subcontractors
Preparation of all as-built documentation in conjunction with the Construction Team
Civil Engineers :
Design of civil foundations and bases for substations in accordance with local and national standards elevations, cross sections, bills of materials (steel, concrete etc), construction details
Design of internal roads in accordance with local and national standards
Design of drainage layouts, in accordance with Flood Risk Assessment requirements
Critical review of geotechnical studies and pull-out tests to inform mounting structure foundations design (pile depth and cross sections), plus any reinforcements / pre-drilling needed
Design of trench cross sections (in conjunction with Electrical Engineers) in accordance with local and national standards
