CertainTeed’s Insulation business is looking for an Engineering Manager to support all aspects of the manufacturing facility in Athens, GA.

In addition to being a leader and resource to site engineering, the Engineering Manager coordinates and implements all capital projects.

This person will develop, manage, and coordinate project work through the direction of a support staff of engineers and outside resources.

The Engineering Manager also lends their expertise to other areas, such as equipment-design and budget recommendations. This position will be reporting directly to the Plant Manager and collaborate with corporate R&D / centralized engineering group, finance, and accounting.

Responsibilities include :

  • Direct, train and support the Athens engineering resources (2 direct reports)
  • Ensure all policies and standards are met and maintained, including OSHA Federal and State regulations, for all aspects of manufacturing site, including capital projects
  • Determine project scope, schedule, costs and benefits for all capital projects
  • Develop and manage the Project Team consisting of : internal personnel, consultants and contractors
  • Conduct project review meetings with the project team, plant and upper management to review process and ensure the project stays on-time and within budget.
  • Manage Continuous Improvement Process by providing technical support to plant personnel and develop projects that will improve safety, quality, service, and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for Risk Management (GAPS)
  • Maintain Engineering Documentation for the Plant
  • Support other plant activities such as 5S, energy conservation, root cause analysis, and etc.
  • PROFIL RECHERCHÉ

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Must have 7 -10 years’ experience in leading engineers who design machinery, plan and develop manufacturing projects. Must have experience in large capital dollar oversight.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook including the ability to create charts and graphs. AutoCAD a plus.
  • Ability to read and to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, vendors and customers.
  • Effective communication is essential.
