Main Purpose :
Lead the identification and implementation of measures to improve the efficiency of the Trafigura shipping fleet, including reduction of absolute (tCO2e) and intensity (tCO2e per ton commodity per nautical mile) of emissions with the appropriate technology enhancement and utilisation
Support the identification and implementation of measures to reduce the emissions intensity of (tCO2e per ton commodity per nautical mile) and monitoring post implementation of the Trafigura time charter shipping fleet.
Lead the safety performance management across the Trafigura TC and Bareboat fleet and monitor safety across the fleet as appropriate
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities :
Develop and enhance a technical data pool for the Trafigura fleet of different shipping performance and operating metrics by developing equivalent modelling.
Develop and distribute analysis for the Trafigura bareboat fleet based on consolidated facts and data for delivering increased efficiency, supporting commercial decisions, benchmarking and reporting against regulatory requirements.
Support the Group’s Shipping Projects with fuel and GHG performance reporting and analysis.
Provide analysis and expertise to support all Shipping and Chartering teams to optimise fuel use and GHG efficiency (and help to develop an appropriate Scope 3 GHG emissions reduction target for Shipping and Chartering*).
Perform on behalf of shipping, HSEC and operations departments’ safety and GHG reporting and data consolidation.
Review all reporting of and investigations into safety incidents and high potential near misses across the Trafigura bareboat fleet and ensure investigations and actions are satisfactory and completed;
monitor safety incident reporting and performance of time chartered fleet; share best practices across bare boat and time chartered fleets
Abilities, Experience and Qualifications :
Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture bachelor degree
Min 4 years of marine and / or technical experience in shipping industry. Expertise in performance metrics / analysis is required
Familiarity with GHG legislation and reporting principles e.g. GHG Protocol and GHG accounting principles e.g. Global Logistics Emissions Council framework
Strong marine and technical skills accompanied with project management and team working attributes
Proficient in English
Ability to own full project structure and communicate progress and results across various stakeholders in different levels across the organization
Ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers and vendors to develop and operate sophisticated technology solutions for performance and optimization
Ability to understand and investigate all matters around safety in the shipping environment, including but not limited to incident (investigation, causes, actions and lessons) and high potential near miss reporting
