The Role
The Data Team is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Cloud Infrastructure and Architecture team as an AWS Architect for a permanent position based in our Wroclaw HQ.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for :
Designing and overseeing the implementation of data projects within our AWS Cloud.
Lead architecture planning sessions.
Providing supervision and guidance to data engineering development teams.
Work with internal Data teams and Business Analysts to understand functional requirements; creating cloud-based solutions to facilitate those requirements.
Writing concise and detailed documentation.
Ensure all data projects follow AWS Best Practices.
Assess the integrity and quality of current technical solutions, Identify, and provide recommendations for improvements / re-design
Optimize and save costs in Cloud.
Assess risk and help deliver countermeasures that protect company data in the cloud.
Stay current on cloud trends and research new service offerings.
Desired skills :
At least 3-5 years of experience on AWS in an analytics role is preferred.
At least 3-5 years of working experience as an Enterprise or Technical Architect .
A deep understanding of database and analytics technologies including MPP, Relational, and NoSQL databases.
You can create streaming ETL jobs that run continuously, consuming data from streaming sources like Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Apache Kafka, and Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (Amazon MSK).
Strong knowledge of scripting programming languages like Python or Scala .
3+ years of hands-on experience building and performance tuning Hadoop / Spark environments.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI / CD, and DevOps practices.
Implementation and tuning experience of Data Warehousing platforms including knowledge of Data Warehouse Schema Design, Query Tuning, and Optimization.
Strong communication skills.
Proven problem solver the ability to come up with unique solutions to unique problems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with different deadlines.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated and uses sound judgment.
A team player who works well with others.
Desire to learn and improve your skills.
Fluent in English.
Education preferred :
Bachelor’s Degree in related area preferred.
AWS Certification : AWS Certified Solutions Architect and / or AWS Certified Data Analytics is preferred but not essential with sufficient experience.
