The Danish Refugee Council initiated its activities in the island of Lesvos in November 2015 due to the unprecedented influx of asylum seekers.

Following new political developments and displacement dynamics in early 2016, DRC expanded its activities to the mainland to support the people living in several sites across the country.

With offices in Athens, Larissa and Thessaloniki, it currently implements a wide range of activities, including Site Management Support, legal assistance, identification of individual needs and protection of highly vulnerable persons, access to services within and outside the hosting sites through cultural mediation, and non-formal education.

DRC works closely with the refugee communities, the Greek authorities and other humanitarian actors to ensure a protective environment for refugees and asylum seekers in Greece


DRC Greece is looking to recruit an enthusiastic professional to support the Human Resources Department of Central Greece Office.

As an HR / Admin Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Area Manager and with the line management of the Head of Support Services, you will provide support in a wide range of HR related matters.

This is an entry level position, perfect for those who are looking for an opportunity to start building their career in the field of Human Resources, as well as the Humanitarian sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include :

Administrative tasks

  • Ensure that personnel records are properly maintained and regularly updated.
  • Ensure that DRC internal documents are filed in correctly.
  • Prepare employment certificates as requested.
  • Manage / Check incoming and outgoing documents to ensure they are filled in correctly.
  • Updating personnel information in HR database.
  • Recruitment Process

  • Communicate with shortlisted candidates to inform them about the interview process.
  • Schedule tests prior to the interview stage.
  • Schedule interviews depending on availabilities and organize / inform the interview panel.
  • Internal Communication

  • Welcome new staff the first day on their job.
  • Inform new staff about basic HR processes.
  • Hiring Process

  • Coordinate with Administration and Logistics Departments for onboarding and offboarding staff to ensure that all procedures have been followed.
  • Inform incoming and departing staff about the necessary paperwork.

  • Any other task as requested.

    Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification
  • Prior working experience is not required.
  • Able to speak and write fluently in Greek and English.
  • Excellent Computer Skills (MS Office, Internet) are a must.

  • The contract will be under the Greek Labor Law (this is a national position)
