Overall Purpose of The JobWorking as part of a structured IT support team to provide a high level of Support for the systems within the Group.
Communicating with end users and helping to resolve any problems they have. Show a high level of professionalism to both colleagues and customers.
To travel to both vessels and offices when required and provide the necessary support. Work within the Support infrastructure and carry out the duties required from helpdesk support to project support.
Work within the SLA’s of external and internal customers.Key Responsibilities and TasksWorking thin the V. Group Service desk model.
Supporting all VGroup Business Systems, which include in house applications and off the shelf applications used by V. Group
Strictly adhere to the policies and procedures put in place by the VGroup VMS and IT policy documents.
Onsite support for local office as well as providing telephone support to remote users across the group.
Supporting Vessels for all the on-board systems. Provide Telephone support to Vessels and attendance where required.
Supporting all aspects of hardware used within the Group with an emphasis on the local office.
Enforcing the IT security policy and procedures.
Monitoring Cyber Safety assessments, drills and preventive actions.
Work within the SLA structure laid down by IT management.
Working with a professional manner to help maintain and enhance the customer experience.
Work as part of a Global IT team to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Maintaining a fiscal discipline on communication costs on board and onshore.
Maintaining local hardware inventory and being responsible for the hardware maintenance and replacement within local office.
Required ExperienceEssential :
Good inter personal skills and the ability to interact with end users.
Good Communication skills are essential both verbal and written.
Experience in working in a Service Desk environment
Experience in working with vessels
A degree in IT or a similar discipline
A high level of knowledge of physical and virtual servers.
A high level of Knowledge of switches
A high-level knowledge of printers / scanners / mobile devices
Server 2008 and above
Networking software (SolarWinds , Wireshark , Putty)
Vessel Email systems (Dualog / GTmail / Speedcast / Amos)
High level of knowledge of TCP / IP, switches and LAN and WAN topologies
High level of knowledge of Vessel Communications and systems.
High knowledge of virtualised network and hardware.
Infinity / Exchange / Sigma experience
Practical knowledge of the following : -
Cisco Call manager
Freshworks Helpdesk or similar
