Role purpose :
Messaging Services Engineering. Being part of the European Vodafone Network Engineering organization, the key role is to define, design and deliver solutions in the area of Messaging Services to cope with Business requirements and Technology Evolution for Vodafone European Region.
Based in Vodafone Greece as primary local market, the role is to satisfy Vodafone European marketing requirements within Messaging Services domain : SMS, MMS, Voicemail, Messaging Gateways, IP Messaging services (SMSoIP and RCS), IoT services as well as Cell Broadcast for Public Alerting Services.
Project and Program Management. Coordinate activities of major projects in Messaging Services area, engaging and driving vendors, corresponding subject groups and internal stakeholders;
ensuring project implementation aligned with Vodafone Demand & Delivery standards and processes and the corresponding presentation of the results to management team / head of department and the relevant committees (project and working groups)
Messaging Service Evolution. To drive Messaging Services features and platforms evolution inside the Vodafone European Region, boosting harmonization and centralization strategies, relying on Network Function Virtualization architectures and contributing in cross-country Messaging Services Evolution projects in cooperation with other Vodafone OpCos within the European Region.
Budget Management. Independent and autonomous budget life cycle management. Full commitment with budget preparation and approval as well as monitoring and tracking of allocated budget.
Vendor Management. To coordinate and manage e2e vendor activities, in order to guarantee projects time to market and compliancy to end user requirments.
Consistent tracking, detection and evaluation of technology trends, identify needs and initiate new processes or solution adjustments, including the introduction of new cost-effective technologies and projects.
To drive Messaging Platforms evolution towards Network Function Virtualization architecture
Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
Engineer Delivery Manager. Define, design and implement solutions to fit Business requirements
Vendor Management, external and internal suppliers, ensuring the delivery of services
Collaboration with national and international peers at Technology or Commercial areas and Executives within various VF European companies, Network Strategy & Engineering and other VF-Group or Local Market teams.
Solutions Design & Implementation, including Certification & testing activities and post deployment support
Messaging Services Architecture definition and evolution. Ensure the correct sizing and capacity of the messaging systems
Core competencies, knowledge and experience :
Leadership experience as program or project manager
Long-standing (over 7 years) professional experience
Cross-functional and multi-cultural collaboration, team-worker
Delivering results, Manage a changing environment, Customer oriented
Strong expertise in Messaging Services
