Meetings & Events Team Leader

Main objective

Overall responsibility of the local operations and local growth strategy of M&E Business in term of Product Positioning and Delivery.

Primary responsible to generate revenues according to the company’s pricing models. Keep strong relationship with the customers and make efficient use of the resources, develop cross training and increased capabilities within the team to undertake multi functions, to engage staff in more than one role.

Set KPI’s to all staff and monitor performance. Act as an operations / Business local Ambassador for the global M&E network.

Role and responsibilities to include :

  • Manage the day to day execution of the Business development activities. Responsible for optimizing the product mix. Work with the Finance team to develop Financial Budgets and operating plan for the M&E Business.
  • Following the company’s policy requirements, Global Preferred Suppliers and compliance. Also the customer’s requirements regarding specific policies (e.g. Pharma Customers)
  • Ensure compliance with all local rules and regulations, including local labour laws, AML compliance and reporting etc.
  • Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in related areas.
  • Must be well-versed in country of operations, with excellent local language skills and relationships with key local customer groups.
  • Must demonstrate a good knowledge of desktop applications and other tools for planning and tracking, and have first-hand experience in preparing and tracking performance against business plans.
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, negotiating, presentation and organizational skills required.
  • Proven ability to build high-performing, high-moral, self-managing teams that function well in complex environments.
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of well-rounded operations and sales experience in similar positions with a focus on M&E expansion-
  • as well as three years of experience in a leadership role.

  • Extensive experience at a rapidly growing M&E company with a similar profile.
  • Experience in leading marketplace-focused sales organizations with a strong track record of profitable revenue growth in major roles.
  • Experience in developing sales enhancement programs and sales tools.
  • Experience successfully creating and communicating a meaningful brand identity.
  • A healthy blend of both operations and sales experience and able to range across the two domains with ease.
  • International experience or understanding company’s operating countries.
  • Ideally, but not necessarily, the individual will have had some exposure to European marketplace. Experience working in an entrepreneurial and multi-cultural environment.
  • Has managed his career in a highly disciplines manner, with logical progressions and career moves, ideally working within well-respected companies.
  • Experience of having worked in a matrix’ structure.
  • English Proficiency and fluent speaking is essential, second language will be an advantage
