Role purpose :

Being part of an agile team, the Technical Business Analyst supports and maximizes the effectiveness of the Product Owner by technically supporting the feasibility and analysis of the user stories to an adequate level of granularity for the software engineers.

The need to bridge the business needs, as well as the user experience guidelines, with the technical capabilities, the external dependencies, cross-domain APIs, constitute a set of factors to be addressed and handled accordingly.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership :

  • Perform requirements gathering, vetting, and documentation as needed
  • Support the Product Owner, with technical details, to clarify user stories questions with team members
  • Work with Product Owner to review, update and re-prioritize team backlog, based on technical constraints, dependencies and effort
  • Perform feasibility analysis on business needs
  • Design end-to-end solutions and cross domain integration and APIs, fostering re-use of existing components
  • Facilitate solution compliance to security, privacy, and regulatory needs
  • Analyse and report delivery risks and opportunities
  • Ensure all documents are reviewed, clarified, organized, and conformed to organizational standards
  • Provide guidance to delivery teams to ensure alignment
  • Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Analysis, or other related field
  • Two or more years of experience in supporting successful delivery in Business Analysis (or equivalent role) across full product lifecycles, from MVP to marketable products in iterations, including support transition
  • Experience in business and systems analysis in a large digital environment
  • Experience in solution architecture and design in a digital business context
  • Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry strongly preferred
  • JIRA / Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Behaviours and other competencies :

  • Experience working with agile methodologies / in agile teams strongly preferred
  • Strong facilitation and organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with both technical and business audiences
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with high-levels of creativity
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Customer centricity
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls
