As a result of our rapid growth, we are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to support the growing database environments of SQL Server , Postgres and gradually Cloud database systems.
Responsibilities :
Manage DB Systems through multiple product lifecycle environments , from development to mission-critical production systems.
Configuration and maintenance of DB Systems including :
monitoring / health checks
ensure high levels of performance and tuning
availability / business continuity
security
Resolve performance degradation incidents and outages
Definition of database backup policies
Design , develop and implement database jobs / scripts and automations
Define and Implement tools for automated monitoring and alerting
DB storage-space capacity monitoring and future resources estimation
Support Engineering team and development depending or interacting with DB Systems , and db environments
DB Deployment support :
Reviewing proposed database changes to make sure : they meet company standards , have no security issues, and will use an appropriate amount of server resources
Applying changes to database objects that have been previously tested and approved. During a designated change window’ : Deployment Plan
Triage more complex user issues and handle escalations from Junior DBAs
Improve existing processes for ongoing SQL Server management
SQL Server configuration in response to ongoing issues, new releases, critical patches
Provide database development training and mentoring on other team members

Required
At least 4 years of proven experience in DB Administration of RDBMS technologies : SQL Server, SQL Server Agent Jobs 2016 / 2017 / 2019
SQL Server Backup, Recovery / DB Systems User Access
DB Systems Networking
OS : Windows , Linux operation and scripting automation
PostgreSQL 9+
Hands-on experience in T-SQL query, Optimizer, and Execution plan principles
Analytical Skills Analytical skills have to do with gathering information from various sources and then interpreting the data in order to reach a logical conclusion
Detail Oriented Detail oriented involves being extremely mindful and observant of all details.
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
BSc degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
Desired
High Availability Db solutions / RDBMS : Postgres
Cloud database services / deployments of SQL Server , or PostgreSQL in AWS / Azure / GCP or Big Query
Hands on experience on containerized database instances
BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
MCP Certification in SQL Server or AWS Database Specialist
