Position Title : Manager International Treasury

Location : Athens, Greece

Position Objective :

The Manager International Treasury is managing and streamlining all bank cash flows and positions (by region, by currency), bank transactions, and the intercompany netting process for Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and North Africa regions.

In these areas, the Manager International Treasury is the liaison with the controllers to ensure that monthly payroll, suppliers and taxes can be paid.

Furthermore, the Manager International Treasury is the treasury and payment support person for the International Finance Director for these regions.

This position is vital in helping to :

  • Improve the availability of cash where and when the money is needed;
  • Improve access to bank accounts and internet banking systems;
  • Reduce interest expense;
  • Reduce FX exposures (both based on real bank balances, as well as intercompany positions).
  • Furthermore, the position is tasked with improving all administrative banking transactional processes in the mentioned regions.

    The position is also involved in preparation and review of the corporate cash flow forecasting.

    The Manager International Treasury will likely play a role in managing payroll systems. As we are currently reviewing the existing payroll system and related processes, this work still needs to be defined.

    The amount of time expected to be dedicated in this area is maximum of 20% of the total function.

    These responsibilities will mean a significant amount of review and analysis, plus daily hands-on involvement in approving payments.

    Settings and scope of responsibility :

    To manage together with the International Finance Director and the Corporate Team all Hill cash and FX positions for the international region (totaling 40+ countries in North Africa, Middle East, Asia, and Europe).

    Prepare and review with the International Finance Director the cash flow forecast, moving the available cash to those places where needed most, considering a one-week to two-month time window.

    The company has businesses of a local in-country nature. Our local business is supported by various local banks to ensuring our access to local guarantees.

    The number of banking relations impacts our payment procedures. Therefore, it is important to keep our banking landscape simple and to reduce the number of internet platforms and to simplify and solidify the payment approval processes.

    The Hill employee currently involved in the bank guarantees will reduce time spent in this area in 2022. This change will provide an opportunity for the new Manager International Treasury to be involved with bank guarantees.

    The bank guarantee process is applicable for Asia, Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

    We are in the process of improving and upgrading our ERP system. This upgrade will influence our internal control system, our payment processes, our accounting processes, and our cash flow processes.

    We are currently reviewing our options to improve our payroll processes to simplify and streamline such processes. The Manager International Treasury was historically involved in some of the approval processes and execution of payroll payment processes.

    Involvement with this project will be clarified soon.

    The Manager International Treasury will have close contact with the finance teams in each country / region and with external advisors in such countries to manage the required reporting within the appropriate deadlines.

    Some traveling to various locations in the Middle East and North Africa may be required.

    Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Treasury or Accounting
  • Experience in the managing cash flows and foreign currency positions
  • Experience in accounting and with ERP systems
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes
  • Preferably knowledge of internal controls and U.S. SOX controls
  • Team player, good communicator and demonstrated initiative
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Understand the key aspects of FX and cash management and cash flow management.
  • Extensive experience with various banking systems and payment approval processes.
  • Committed and able to deliver projects on time, in scope and within budget.
  • Good command of the English language
  • Analytical with good problem-solving skills
