is currently looking for a highly motivated full-time tanker to provide support to the Marine Manager / Deputy DPA. The successful applicant is expected to have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position, seagoing experience in tankers with at least two years’ use of Furuno / JRC ECDIS units, excellent command of English, computer literate, good contact with TMSA3 requirements, and availability to travel.
He / she should be well experienced in integrated management systems (ISM / ISPS / ISO). Use of DANAOS PMS is a distinctive advantage.
Main scope of position includes the following :
Conducts inspections onboard the managed fleet and trains Deck crews on good seamanship practices
Supervises dry-docking / routine deck maintenance works
Reviews of electronic charts and publications orders for vessels and office
Accountable for the paint supplies and monitoring of ROBs onboard the managed vessels
Provides advice to vessels on cargo requirements, tank cleaning, stability and stress and to maintain all statutory requirements for the vessel in this field
Co-operates with Insurance & Claims Department by providing supporting documentation / evidence for the raised claims
Being member of the incident investigation team, propose corrective / preventive actions and present findings
Carries out pre-vetting inspections, Navigational Audits, Internal ISM / ISPS / ISO 14001 Audits onboard the managed vessels
Responsible for the vessels mooring operations and associated safety aspects
Monitors and advises on legislative changes affecting the operation of the vessel
Maintains company navigational standards by regularly reviewing navigational practices / procedures and proposing improved navigational practices, equipment, training and procedures
Consulted by Procurement Department during preparation of the initial orders for the new building projects
Interviews Senior Deck Officers and candidates for the Marine Department related matters
Performs briefing / de-briefing meetings with Master and Chief Engineer
Monitors and advises on legislative changes affecting the operation of the vessel.
