Role Description

Functional Architect role within the EMEA UGBU Services organization, focused on providing functional Customer 2 Meter (C2M) or Customer Cloud Service (CCS) expertise on Oracle Utilities engagements.

This resource will work directly with client’s core business team to ensure focus on business case objectives, leveraging best practice processes across the solution set, and scope management. This role also involves developing practical and creative solutions in a way that solves business problem. Lead workshops with clients to deliver a clear specification of the customer’s business requirements and a business-justified solution. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.
Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on complex customer engagements. Lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. Will act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Internal
o Mentor and develop industry experience, application skills, and consulting expertise amongst the delivery consulting team
o Contribute to reusable collateral/accelerators
o Enhance and evolve business development and delivery tools/collateral, including methodology and estimating models
o Knowledge sharing across peer group
o Active support to Business Development
o Support consulting sales team with RFP responses, project estimation, resource planning, oral presentations, contract development and negotiation

• Project engagements
o Apply professional mastery and industry-wide understanding of technology, Oracle Utilities Solutions, tools, and methodologies to provide complex solution delivery on active engagements.
o Lead the delivery team deployed in an engagement, by providing solution to business requirements, oversight of the activities performed by less experienced consultants, and supporting the Project Manager on team management, and scope management.
o Guide clients towards solutions that leverage Oracle base system functionality and best practices in the industry.
o Guide and facilitate system configuration.
o Develop functional design specifications for complex requirements, and supports more junior resources on their assigned activities
o Ability to review and understand multiple designs developed by other team members and ensure formation of a creative and cohesive solution. Provide tangible and constructive feedback on how to improve the solution
o Actively engage and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the client’s business team to ensure alignment of the solution to their business challenges and long-term goals
o Anticipate future customer, industry and information technology trends.
o Ability to review and understand multiple designs and ensure formation of a creative and cohesive solution.
o Work closely with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Oracle and third-party vendors to ensure delivery.
o Be responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client's satisfaction.
o Support the Oracle management team on escalation management

Preferred qualifications include:
• Possess B.S. or B.A. degree in either Management Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, STEM subject, or equivalent.
• Senior role experience on at least two implementation projects of Oracle Utilities products (CC&B, MDM, CSS, etc) throughout the complete lifecycle (Implementation to post go-live).
• Experience on business process modelling using Oracle Utilities Reference models
• Full life cycle experience delivering COTS - as an individual contributor and preferably with team lead experience
• Experience facilitating workshops, guiding the client to a recommended solution, and owning the delivery of it.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients
• Hands on experience with Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF) including Configuration Tools
• Must have hands on SQL, and Java knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of Design and Customizations of Java Based Applications
• Working experience of the Design, Development, Testing and Release phases of the SDLC.
• Oracle Utilities products Implementation Specialist certification
• Good understanding of business processes and Business Process Modeling experience
• 10+ years overall relevant experience including at least 7 in consulting
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills are required – heavy client facing role
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)
• Ability to travel to client locations throughout the EMEA region weekly
• This job requires 100% travel

As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
