A hands-on product development and research position. Primary function would be working in the lab, wetlab, and pilot plant to implement designed experiments.
Job Accountabilities :
Develop, plan, conduct and coordinate product development research experiments and formulate new beverage & food prototypes for commercialization, spanning the range from low to high acid dairy / plant-
based and convergence products
Utilize experimental design and data interpretation tools to make technically sound recommendations
Collect information, analyze data, maintain up-to-date lab notebook, complete documentation, write reports, and suggest recommendations to solve various problems with respect to basic research and new product development
Support production at pilot and manufacturing plants for shelf-life, stability, sales samples, scale-ups, and other needs
Actively participate in Marketing and Marketing Research programs, including focus groups and other consumer research formats
Perform product reviews for R&D and business teams
Contribute to the design of sensory and consumer tests
Develop understanding of strategic ingredients, products, processes and packages to support development of new dairy / plant-
based product platforms
Build strong relationships with relevant internal and external partners
Qualifications / Requirements
BS in Food Science / Chemical Engineer or related discipline, with
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) across multiple cultures
Good cross-functional leadership skills and demonstrated ability to function effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment as well as manage multiple projects
Broad understanding of new product innovation from concept to execution
Good working knowledge of experimental design and product development protocols (including formulation, stability testing, sensory and consumer testing methodology)
Other Job Requirements :
This position will require flexibility in working hours to set-up and complete focus groups, pilot plant scale-ups or plant trials that may extend past typical working hours
Occasional weekend travel is normal due to time required to travel to certain locations
