The Digital Solutions and Enablement team are accountable for the creation, configuration, launch, and support of all externally facing digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & device) products, platforms, services, and experiences, servicing all external customer types at Pfizer.
In addition, the DS&E team is accountable for our Marketing Technology (Martech stack) inclusive of Digital Platforms, Digital Channel Enablement, Content Integration, and Marketing / Marketer Tools and for driving Digital Enablement within Pfizer, including Robotic Process Automation, Intelligent Assistants and Workforce Productivity tools.
This position is responsible for implementing continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), infrastructure as code, AWS services integration and DevOps.
The primary responsibilities of this position includes building and maintaining reliable infrastructure and security services in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver highly available and scalable services, automating everything to minimize manual work and meet security and compliance objectives in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem, use native AWS infrastructure services such as EC2, RDS, EBS, Auto Scaling, Cloudwatch, etc.
perform basic system administration tasks, and serve on the on-call team as an escalation contact for service incidents.

A detailed understanding of open source and cloud based technologies to create cost competitive and technically advanced solutions to meet our current and future needs.
The candidate will have demonstrable subject matter expertise in AWS cloud development. Whilst being recognized as a technical SME, this role requires a solid understanding of the business and is able to successfully translate this knowledge into day to day decision making.
The candidate will have the ability to develop high-quality code, define solutions to meet Business Requirements and may lead or co-lead design and development projects.
The candidate will apply fundamental knowledge in computer science, software development, systems operations and administration to contribute to the creation of high quality, reusable solutions.
Whilst the primary focus of the role will be ensuring that the correct implementation decisions will be made, it is imperative that knowledge is shared and decisions are based on multiple inputs across the wider technical platform team, this position will both disseminate and actively encourage knowledge sharing.
In collaboration with the DevOps Platform Lead, the role will be responsible for recommending skills management of AWS technical resources on the team, ensuring the talent pool is appropriate for current and future needs.
Primarily responsible for the design, development, release management, code quality, CI integration and usage of AWS services to create complex automation tasks to support global applications including automated testing to support automated deployment.
Implement configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet).
Solve infrastructure problems and automate responses for recurring problems.
Provide documentation as required and perform peer and vendor code reviews.
Estimate time, complexity and costs for projects and change requests to existing systems - provide accurate level of effort time estimates and provide recommendations for feature prioritization.
Accountable for the financial and schedule accuracy of estimates provided for projects, and for the successful implementation and documentation of technology according to plans.
Contributor to technical roadmaps for process focus areas and overall commercial solutions.
Respond to issue escalation from development and production support teams.
Relevant experience as an information technology professional in roles such as a software developer and / or systems engineer, computer engineer, engineering lead, technical team lead.
Experience leading moderately complex projects.
Experience operating in a DevOps environment.
Practice of modern software engineering, including coding standard, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and releasing.
Experience with AWS, Azure, and / or Google public cloud experience in a production environment.
Experience with developing secure cloud based applications.
Experience designing, orchestrating, and deploying container based solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with continuous delivery tools and methodologies like GitHub, Jenkins, Travis CI, and agile development.
Database concepts with the ability to build out database support in AWS environment.
Proficient in UNIX / Linux environment and administration of those environments.
Experience with Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with increasing responsibility in a lead engineering related role.
As above and including Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Management or relevant disciplines.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
Ability to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner and influence resources outside of the immediate span of control.
Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with geographically distributed resources.
Experienced in driving good practices, code reviews and mentor people in writing maintainable and scalable code.
Excellent skills in analysis, critical thinking and planning, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation and the ability to readily learn a new business area.
Technology solutions delivery in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment a bonus.
