Short description of the position

NOKIA 7342 ISAM FTTU enables IP converged triple-play services by offering maximum bandwidth and QoS over fiber access. The 7342 ISAM team is looking for a talented R&D Engineer to join the local Athens team to support R&D and Customer Support activities, i.

e. customers’ network support, new product releases, and bug fixing.

You’ll be part of a team having end-to-end product responsibility, have the autonomy to find the best ways in reaching the team targets, and the possibility to experience the whole product development lifecycle, with different tools and lab equipment at your hand.

Job Responsibilities & Competencies

A suitable candidate should have the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Good and practical knowledge of broadband telecommunication technologies in any of GPON / FTTH technologies
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of L2 / L3 networking
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Good in customer interaction with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable with troubleshooting and resolving customer's problems remotely
  • Fluency in English language
  • Also, the following skills are considered as a plus :

  • Working experience of at least 3 years in an R&D or technical support department in the telecom sector
  • Protocol knowledge in IP Forwarding, VLAN (802.1q), Bridging & Switching, Radius, IGMP, QoS, DHCP, SNTP, PPPoE, SIP, MEGACO, OMCI (G.984.4)
  • Prior 24x7 on-duty service support
  • Working knowledge of software testing
  • Knowledge in handling traffic generator e.g. Spirent Test generator or PCTA
  • TCL and shell scripting
  • Linux operation experience
  • Exposure to Virtualization and Cloud technologies (Kubernetes / Dockers / Open Stack / VMware)
