Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation :
This role is responsible for maximising the profitability of Market Europe Consumer Direct Retail and Franchise by driving relevant Real Estate projects in alignment with the company’s retail growth targets for European Markets.
This function will also support the different Senior Real Estate Managers across Europe and the respective decision-making processes in the headquarters.
Key Responsibilities :
Set up and drive real estate projects within Europe, both Own Retail and Franchise
Identify and evaluate real estate opportunities through site selection metrics and criteria, demographic analyses, and research to ensure the best locations for the brand are secured
Work with the real estate managers in the different countries across Europe and various retail departments to attain internal alignment on site opportunities and sales projections
Support Senior real estate managers
Present the adidas retail and franchise concepts to prospective landlords
Steer external Real Estate resources in locating and evaluating potential sites
Evaluate existing store portfolio to actively drive rent reductions, recommend lease renewals and terminations and negotiate renewals and extensions where appropriate.
Monthly update portfolio overview WE with the real estate managers in the countries.
Management of lease agreement signature process
Management of real estate activity list including all upcoming lease events
Prepare and support new projects
Provide manuals and document processes

Internal - Europe Real Estate department, Retail Store Development, Retail Store Operations, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, HR, Global Real Estate, Legal
External - Landlords, brokers, industry developers and operators, architects, legal partners, general contractors
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Management ability and competency to manage landlords, brokers, developers, operators, architects, and lawyers
Ability to maximize relationships with developers and landlords in real estate community
Ability to think strategically, define business opportunities and problems, collect, interpret and analyze abstract and concrete information, and create strategic, value-add solutions
Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time, and in some cases with limited notice
Strong retail business acumen (operational and fiscal)
Strong project management, presentation and communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence others
Strong organizational skills.
Proficiency with MS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other computer software (Internet, POS Systems, etc).
Ability to speak, read and write English fluently; German language skills beneficial
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications :
University degree preferred in one of the following areas : International Business, Geography, Maths, Economics, Statistics
Minimum 2 years retail specific real estate site selection experience, preferably with a major retailer / brand or international landlord
Minimum 3-4 years first-hand experience within Retail and / or Wholesale landscape
