Assuring that vessels are operated to the highest standard with absolute regard to safety and protection of environment and in conjunction with the Crew Manager ensuring that selected Senior and Junior Officers are of the highest standard achievable and have relevant knowledge of the type of the assigned vessel.
Maintaining, in conjunction with the Fleet Superintendents, a vessel visitation plan’ to ensure compliance with the QSMS and the ship visits’ KPIs throughout the year.
Reassuring that Fleet Superintendents deliver Reports to the standard required and in the time frame expected.
Ensuring that the investigation of incidents and / or accidents that happen on board Fleet’s vessels is carried out, followed up and closed out in accordance with QSMS.
Securing that QSMS procedures are followed and that, as far as practicable, operational risks are controlled and minimized, and participating as a member of the Risk Assessment Team when required.
Establishing that the Fleet is adequately staffed, and that satisfactory levels of competence and experience are available to meet changing demands and priorities.
If further assistance is needed, informs the Top Management.
Accountable for the vessels’ performance in relation to the planning, management and control of shipboard maintenance and repair programs, dry-dockings, deficiencies, class and flag surveys, and ensures these are completed within the required time scales.
Responsible for overseeing PMS implementation, completed by the Fleet Superintendent, and ensuring harmonization of PMS amongst the vessels within the Fleet and that the job description and maintenance intervals assigned to all machineries is as per makers manual.
Supervising the Monitoring of vessels performance in accordance with charter party requirement, by the Fleet Superintendents.
Preparing the Annual Vessel Operating Budgets prior to submission to Top Management for approval.
Overseeing the vessel expenditure throughout the year ensuring that variances to budget are explained to Top Management in a professional and timely manner,
At least 6 years office experience in the position of Technical Director / Manager and / or Fleet Manager
BSc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering is a must
Excellent technical knowledge especially in New Buildings and Old
Recognized marine qualification and / or relevant experience at sea
Expertise in optimization of processes and development of procedures
Advanced leadership skills
High level of planning and organizational skills
