Position Purpose & Summary As a member of the Global HR Solutions (GHRS) team, this position is responsible for coordinating the Industrial Relations, IR, processes and implications in EMEA of business and functional restructuring projects that have impact on jobs and positions as well as on employees in EMEA.

Additionally, this position directly and actively supports the IR EMEA Lead in multiple areas within the IR EMEA scope.This position demands a strong project manager who can partner effectively with all levels of the organization across the region and globally where needed.

Most projects will be in EMEA, for some there might be a global coordination role. These projects include MADJV activities, organizational restructuring and strategic initiatives all from an GHRS IR perspective.

The chosen candidate is expected to be an empowered partner who must drive results, proactively identify and resolve problems, and act as a corporate steward for compliance with country legislation and IR framework of rules, processes and standing practices.

This position is expected to keep up with project management technology, trends and best practices.This position has the responsibility to coordinate the IR aspect of (global) projects on a day-to-day basis, within the framework as identified by the IR EMEA Leader.

The Project Lead is responsible for compliance of project execution with country legislation and IR practices as well as the EWC Agreement.

The Project Coordinator works together / aligns with resources across HR including country IR / ER teams, Global Communications and Law.

Work typically includes : project planning, project scheduling, stakeholder communication and status reporting. The Project Lead identifies, recommends and implements project management best practices.

This position is responsible for portfolio and project coordination activities across projects with the highest IR complexity and risk, including IR planning, execution and governance.

The Project Lead has the primary responsibility to ensure that the projects produce the desired outcomes within the framework of IR processes, rules, legislation and standing practices in EMEA.

Additonally this position directly and actively supports the IR EMEA Lead in the following areas within IR EMEA scope : IR EMEA process description and optimization, stakeholder communication, overall documentation and presentations, agenda and delivery of monthly IR calls, specific cross-country IR matters.

This position is expected to have experience in managing large and complex projects, expertise in project and portfolio management methodologies, tools and processes, and thorough knowledge in HR operations and MADJV activities.

Additionally the this position needs to have or build required level of IR knowledge to support EMEA IR lead on the above described areas.

Principal Accountabilities 50% Project Management and coordination

  • Support business / functions projects requiring IR coordination across multiple countries in EMEA
  • Engage with business and functional project teams, to explain and manage IR roadmap for Europe / European countries
  • Regularly educate stakeholders on IR EMEA
  • Review monthly IR communication toolkits
  • Support monthly stakeholder communication
  • Prepare and facilitate Monthly Market IR calls, including agenda, communication with participants, and actions follow up , in cooperation with IR EMEA lead
  • Lead project reviews utilizing expert knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Act as point of contact / Daily for Business Fulfilment lead, business / project leads as well as involved country IR leads and regional BHR team
  • Be the point of contact for EWC Business Representative on EWC matters only in close cooperation with IR EMEA Lead
  • Coordinate with involved Country IR colleagues
  • Consult on an ad hoc basis with IR EMEA Lead / EMEA Employment Lawyer for questions, issues, alignment
  • Outline and communicate IR implications for business decision making as well as info / consult processes for EMEA, with focus on WC countries.
  • Provide structured updates on (tentative) IR put through’ timelines that can be used for interaction (education) with the business in different phases of projects

    15% Project Controls

  • Define, measure and monitor project controls and progress to identify variances from the plan and resolve issues as appropriate.
  • Engage and manage stakeholders as appropriate to ensure understanding and alignment.
  • 20% Support to IR EMEA leadership

  • Support to IR EMEA process description and optimization
  • Support IR EMEA stakeholder communication
  • Manage overall EMEA IR documentation and support on relevant presentations
  • Support on specific cross-country IR matters and alignment of timelines and actions if and where appropriate
  • Conduct IR scenario planning for EEA and Country IR approach to facilitate decision making by the IR EMEA Lead and the Business
  • 15% Business Results

  • Accountable for providing project sponsors and stakeholders with IR status, actively communicating issues and threats, and ensuring that leadership alignment is a priority.
  • Work with business to ensure projects are successfully supported from an IR perspective
  • Ensure successful completion of all project phases and closure of all aspects of the project from an IR perspective.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven record in project management
  • 5+ years of HR and / or relevant business experience
  • Understanding of IR framework in EMEA and its relevance and impact on business
  • Exposure to Industrial Relations processes within an EMEA context (or one or more EEA countries)
  • A broad understanding of IR implications of MADJV activities in EMEA
  • Experience anticipating issues, problem solving and implementing solutions, including referring critical issues to the appropriate level of management
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen
  • Strong drive for results with results / outcome focus
  • Fluent in English
  • Demonstrated expert-level project management capabilities
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills - ability to thrive as part of a regional and global team
  • Proven ability to think in logical project steps and skilled to explain project steps and process flows to others in a comprehensive and accessible manner
  • Independent thinker and problem solver
  • Strong communication skills (verbal / written / using technology related communications / able to manage a regional or global call and presentation to a satisfactory conclusion) Strong ability to connect, clarify, influence at various levels in the organization, including senior leaders
