About the role

The Senior Product Manager, Institutions (AI Strategy) has primary responsibility for developing and delivering a comprehensive strategy for AI integration across the ELL product portfolio.

Their main responsibility will be to deliver long-term value by solving customer problems using an integrated development framework and strategy to guide product management development to include AI capabilities.

This position, working in conjunction with members of the ELL team, and with a keen understanding of the competitive / market landscape and customers’ needs, develops and executes the strategic direction and vision for all products within ELL that require AI capabilities.

Your key accountabilities

  • Working with customer research and sales teams to understand and articulate customer needs and collating problems into jobs to be done.
  • Keep an eye on emerging trends and new technologies integrating them into the product models as appropriate.

  • Define product direction and vision to meet customer needs with an integrated view of the institutional, corporate and consumer verticals spanning learning, assessment, tutoring and other services.
  • In conjunction with product managers across ELL, create overall AI product strategy, using product lifecycle methodology and agile best practices.
  • Ensure that the product strategy aligns to the overarching ELL strategy and portfolio level plans. Collaborate with technology, assessment COE, and content development teams to set clear requirements around capabilities and content required for AI integration.

  • Accountable for ensuring delivery of the AI capabilities and features within each product on the roadmap within timeline and budget.
  • Ensure strong governance practices are in place for project to highlight success and manage risk to delivery. Responsible for communication of development progress to internal and external stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with Product Managers, build business cases and lead the creation of the commercialization strategy and collaborate with finance, marketing, and others to develop pricing and promotion plans.
  • Deeply understand customer behavior and revenue / cost drivers as it relates to the overall portfolio profitability.

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and market development to develop strategies and execute tactics to drive product adoption and success.
  • Collaborate on development of campaigns to attract new customers and increase share of wallet through progressive pricing, trial and conversion tactics.

  • Monitor ongoing performance of the ELL portfolio with products that include AI capabilities and / or products that would benefit from adding AI capabilities.
  • Evaluate product performance and customer feedback and provide insight to product / content / platform development teams to refine future product releases and roadmap decisions.

    Help with prioritization of the development backlog.

  • Partner with the sales and support teams to drive fidelity of implementation, including product training, customer support and customer implementation resources.
  • Perform gap analysis on existing product data and help key stakeholders productize results of AI data sets
  • Understand the competitive landscape for the corporate segment and emerging market trends
  • Manage and direct research and development (R&D) and processes to meet the needs of our AI strategy
  • Understand company and client challenges and how integrating AI capabilities can help create solutions
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize key areas of the partner’s business where AI solutions can drive significant business benefit
  • Analyze and explain AI and machine learning (ML) solutions while setting and maintaining high ethical standards
  • Advise C-suite and business leaders on a broad range of technology, strategy, and policy issues associated with AI
  • Serve as liaison between stakeholders and project teams, delivering feedback and enabling them to make necessary changes to product performance or presentation
  • Qualifications :

  • Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Extensive experience developing AI capabilities in customer facing platforms and products
  • At least three years teaching and / or editorial experience in ELT, linguistics, educational technology or foreign language
  • Experience in leading in-house staff, freelance writers, and editors
  • End-to-end digital project management experience
  • Demonstrated business product strategy expertise with a successful record of bringing new products to market
  • Success driving product adoption utilizing B2B and B2C strategies
  • Experience in education, learning, or assessment field preferred
  • Experience in agile product management methodologies
