Sustaining Engineer / Developer Support Engineer (C#, SQL)
We are the Deployment and Sustaining Engineering team , responsible for providing software engineering services for video delivery platform installations.
We help our technical support colleagues with expertise and on-demand builds / workarounds. We prepare work description for development and architects for final fixes preparation.
SeaChange customers are spread worldwide. Many telecommunication companies use our software to deliver video to millions of subscribers.
They expect uninterrupted operation and good performance.
You’re the person we’re looking for, if you :
Are a programmer that operates with at least one compiled and at least one scripting language ( C# / Java / python / bash / PowerShell)
Are familiar with SQL (preferably Microsoft SQL Server flavor)
Understand depths of operating systems (preferably both Windows and Linux)
Know what a .pcap file is and how to use it
Know TCP / IP stack and popular network protocols like HTTP
Understand algorithms : complexity, concurrency, parallel computing
Are an independent problem-solving person
Use English fluently : both spoken and written. Polish is a nice-to-have
Exchange ideas with other engineers regarding solutions or improvements
Nice to have : Have experience working directly with customers
How our daily duties look like?
Analysis of issues reports and logs
Reading source code and finding bugs (mainly C# and SQL)
Investigating cause analysis
Ad-hoc patching the code as workarounds
Proof of concepts and other research or proactive tasks
Requesting extra data from technical support / customer
Specifying tasks for development team
Co-operation with other teams and customers
Current architecture and implementation reviews
Cover on-call rotation
