Job Description

Software Engineer comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilizing knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture).

Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional description.

Covers specification, design, implementation, and unit testing of Software according to the requirements and architecture defined in the systems engineering process.

Covers establishment and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices into software development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure tools and systems.

The SW Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc.

Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW, HW, system components and capitalizes on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.

As a member of our Nokia team, you will design and implement new features based on telecom specifications and customer requirements for the CMM, the core element of Mobile Networks.

Cooperation with other technical experts will be part of your everyday work to achieve the committed objectives, leading the evolution to 5G networks that is required by customers worldwide.

What you will learn and contribute to

  • Autonomously performs tasks with a moderate level of guidance and within guidelines and policies.
  • Analyses factual information and possible solutions, makes independent judgments, decisions and recommendations and solves a range of straightforward problems through knowledge and professional experience.
  • Supports transfer of concepts for professional direction of own organizational unit into actionable measures.
  • Provides informal guidance and support to new team members with regard to the procedures to follow and the specific tasks required to perform the job effectively.
  • Analyses, designs, develops and tests products, services, improvements and bug resolutions for integrated hardware and software systems as per customers' requirements.
  • Resolves customer trouble tickets. Diagnoses complex problems on hardware and software and provides resolution or recommend corrective actions.
  • Plans technical requirements from customers’ needs.
  • Develops SW and HW build-controlled productions releases.
  • Defines product hardware and software evolutions through the creation and release of documentation, change control management, supplier and customer notifications.
  • Retains technical and design knowledge for assigned products and technologies and provides training to new team members.
  • Applies and maintains quality standards. Participates in process and tools evolutions and improvements.

    Your skills and experience

    Degree on Computer Science and Electronic Engineering or equivalent

    Good academic level on Telecom / Networking, Operating Systems, Systems and Signals Transmission, programming / scripting languages, self-motivated and able to work in a multicultural environment.

    Technical Knowledge

    Proven experience as Full Stack Software Engineer

    Familiar with development applications using Linux (e.g. GitLab)

    Good knowledge of programing and scripting languages (e.g. C / C++, JavaScript, Python, Go)

    Knowledge to be considered as a plus

    Experience on building large scale applications for Cloud

    Experience on algorithm optimization & code profiling using thread, memory, network and performance analyzer tools

    Experience in 3GPP, 4G / 5G Radio, Packet Core

    Experience on virtualization / cloud technologies, such as OpenStack, VMWare, Azure, AWS

    Experience with Container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift

    Experience in Web development (php, Angular, Html, JavaScript, CSS)
