    Function description requirements for Tax Manager Guardian Industries VP, S. de R.L. de C.V.

    Guardian Industries is seeking to hire a Tax Manager located in the Queretaro / El Marques area. The Tax Manager will be primarily responsible for tax matters associated with the activities of Guardian Industries and other significant affiliated companies within Mexico.

    Qualification Requirements :

  • 8 or more years of tax experience with emphasis in Mexican tax compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance
  • Highly motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with ability to effectively manage and prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills in both English and Spanish
  • Team-player with ability to manage and motivate others
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Preferences :

  • Experience in a Big 4 firm and / or U.S. based Fortune 500 multi-national corporation preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and / or Master’s in Taxation is preferred.
  • Previous experience in coordinating Mexican tax audit inquiries and resolution of audits
  • Previous experience in transfer pricing rules and regulations
  • What you will do :

  • Report through the LATAM Regional Tax Director / Manager for the affiliated group
  • Manage and lead local Mexican tax compliance processes (income tax & VAT) with both internal tax resources and external tax advisors
  • Identify value-added opportunities and share with tax and business leadership
  • Establish and ensure controls are operating effectively and conform to all and tax requirements, including compliance with corporate policies and local statutory requirements
  • Develop strong business relationships with local company finance directors / controllers and local management
  • Monitor relationships with the tax authorities, including oversight of and assistance in managing any tax audits or queries from tax authorities
  • Communicate effectively to tax leaders on the financial, business, and legal outcomes of tax-related issues including actual or proposed tax legislative or regulatory changes, in order to drive and impact strategic decision making for the region
