ABS Group is seeking a Marine Specialist (MS) to support the Marine and Offshore Division (MOF) consulting business segment in Europe and other geographies as requested.
This could be full time or contract leading to full time. : The MS role is to provide support and assistance to ABSG Group Marine and Offshore (MOF) division related projects.
The MS will report to the Director, Global Marine Services in Houston. The role will include project development and execution support for MOF consulting activities.
Support may comprise research, analysis, marketing, business development, proposal writing, presentations, reports, client relations, administrative, project management and other support functions related to marine shipping, terminals and plants, marine fuel, risk assessment, safety studies and other consulting work as directed by the Manager.
Specific tasking and duties include, but may not be limited to : Market research and business analysis in the fields of marine shipping, terminal and plants, LNG, LNG as marine fuel, training, process safety, risk management, procedures development, marine technology, data analysis, marine and offshore technology applications and other topics as directed.
Writing proposals for Marine consulting projects according to internal and / or external work scopes Support and assistance for the ABS Group project development and set-up process, including time and labor budgeting, scheduling, project set-up forms, monitoring, data entry, reporting, client communications, contract compliance, invoicing, ad and other support functions according to ABS Group project management procedures.
Client deliverables : Report writing, revision and review; manual and procedures writing, develop presentations, document management, client and prospect meeting assistance, client relationship management and other client support activities Assist, manage and support ABS Group internal requests for consulting services related to marine and terminals projects.
Technical and content support for webinars, videos, online learning, client presentations, articles, white papers, research reports, blog posts, animations and other digital offerings for client service and marketing Business development and marketing support, including developing and presenting marketing material, customer surveys and reporting, industry issues and challenges.
Attendance at and participation in conferences, seminars, working groups, panel discussions, industry events and promotional activities representing ABS Group alone or as part of a team.
Additional support activities according to the direction of ABS Group management, customer, and business prospect requirements Qualifications Skills and Qualifications : Engineering degree, marine, mechanical, engineering, Naval Architecture or other similar degree is required.
Seagoing experience is desirable. Business degree is desirable. 10 years of experience overall. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of shipping industry and marine terminal systems, including propulsion, cargo handling / transfer, automation, gas and fire detection, fire extinguishing, mooring, stability, ballast water treatment, emissions control, pollution prevention, maintenance, security, dynamic positioning, performance optimization and advanced shipboard and marine systems, equipment and software Fully conversant with global marine industry regulation, conventions, good practice, safety standards, guidelines and industry organizations (IMO, SOLAS, STCW, IGC, IGF, ISM, FSS, USCG, PHMSA, ISO, SIGTTO, OCIMF, ISGOTT, SGMF, NFPA, IEC, IMCA, OCIMF, PIANC, IAPH, ASTM, ASME, etc.
Adept with all business software and digital technologies Knowledgeable about marine & ports industry and shipping business, including ship owners, operators, trades, trends, challenges.
