Job Description

  • Ensure adolescents / young adults residing in the SIL apartments receive individual mental health support by conducting regular assessments, individual and / or group sessions, follow ups;
  • Collaborate with the Social Worker and the adolescents / young adults on the formulation of an individual action plan for the transition to independent life and / or adulthood;
  • Organize psychoeducation sessions, in cooperation with the Social Worker and caretakers, on areas such as stress management, conflict management, peaceful cohabitation etc.;
  • Organize and conduct psycho-educational trainings / seminars / discussions / activities for SIL staff, on areas pertaining to their scope of work, including developmental stages and emotional well-being of children and teenagers, identification of signs of stress and appropriate response, group dynamics, etc.
  • in close collaboration with the SIL Unit Coordinator;
  • In close cooperation with the Social Worker, identify any behavioral changes or issues the adolescents / young adults might have and respond accordingly by targeted support provision or appropriate referrals;
  • Communicate regularly with other case management and protection staff for updates on achievements and challenges identified with adolescents / young adults;
  • Keep all case management files updated and secured, according to the Data Protection and Information sharing Protocols in place;
  • Complete all reports in a timely manner;
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the adolescents / young adults and enable and develop IRC programs.
  • Qualifications

  • University diploma or degree in psychology, including license to practice;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in case management, provision of psychological counselling or psychosocial support to adolescents / young adults;
  • Previous experience in institution / safe zone / shelter / SIL for children / young adults and persons with disabilities highly desirable;
  • Previous experience in group work with adolescents / young adults is highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated ability in group psychoeducational training is highly desirable;
  • Personal qualities : Team player, responsive, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting;
  • Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures;
  • Strong sense of personal integrity;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Fluency in Greek and English is required;
  • Computer skills : Knowledge of MS Office, Internet, Outlook and competency with new technologies required.
  • OTHER :

  • Must be able to respond to emergencies during night hours and / or weekends.
  • Must successfully complete criminal background check.
