Currently we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our digital transformation journey.
What You'll do :
Strategy and Planning
Work with CTO and other digital leaders to develop and own the delivery of the overall product and technology and strategy for Poland;
Drive the ongoing development of the business’ technology platform strategy, evaluate and drive the roadmap and plans for the platform;
In tandem with the CTO, ensure tech & content platforms can be leveraged for Burda’s international assets where appropriate;
Ensure that technology development streams align with Product goals;
Stay ahead of innovations in technology that support the business;
Be able to communicate the company’s product and technology strategy to management, staff, and other stakeholders;
Develop and drive the technology roadmap;
Drive at pace the quality, quantity and cadence of software engineering, ensuring standards and best practices are maintained or exceeded;
Track and control the annual budgets so that projects are scoped and costed correctly;
Upgrade, enhance and evolve the in-house software products choosing the appropriate technologies to future-proof the systems and where appropriate / pragmatic removing and replacing legacy systems.
Hire, build, grow, and develop high-performing technical teams. Creating an amazing tech culture with an excellent reputation;
Communicate the vision, strategy and roadmaps across the business and bring stakeholders along;
Ensure technology investments are governed well, policies and principles are set, and resources are well managed. This should ideally include experience defining Technology Architecture and ensuring consistent application of standards;
Work with the CTO and other technical leaders at Burda International to ensure a common technology approach and vision where appropriate.
Who You are :
You have got previous experience and success leading technology team(s) in a digital consumer content and / or transactional business which is mobile first;
You are familiar with software development methodologies;
You are familiar with information security and risk management;
You have got experience developing high performing scrum teams and establishing a strong culture of agile development and continuous improvement;
It would be useful if you have experience with M&A within a platform environment and integrating assets onto a common platform driving operating leverage;
Qualities & Skills
The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to software engineering, architecture and management, in addition to bringing a strategic mindset and thinking;
Building and cementing a culture of fast-paced delivery with regular releases and sprints is of paramount importance to this role.
Having a track-record of improving the quality, quantity and cadence of software engineering is essential. A focus on results and a sense of urgency to deliver key targets;
An great leader, team builder and coach who can create a high performance culture where people are developing with clear accountability and sense of purpose;
Good influencing and stakeholder management skills;
A true team player who is collegiate and understands how to pull people together to reach common goals;
Must be able to speak English as well as Polish;
