Being part of an Agile team, the Product Owner provides the vision and direction to the Scrum team throughout the development lifecycle.

Managing stakeholders and market needs the Product Owner is responsible in aligning the team to deliver top notch features, market value and increase the customer satisfaction and other related KPIs of his / her product.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership :

  • Define product vision and strategy, road-map and growth opportunities according to stakeholders and market needs
  • Maximize value of any Product resulting from work of the Development team
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Solution Designers, Business Analysts and Developers to create, maintain and fully own a Product Backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog, manage the backlog throughout iterations, plan and refine user stories while explicitly ensuring transparency to all Scrum team members on what the definition of "Done" for each item
  • Work with UI / UX designer to outline customer journeys
  • Lead with the Agile Portfolio Manager to pick up and plan product release dates and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
  • Mitigate impediments with Scrum master and impact successful team completion of Release / Sprint Goals
  • Work with Developers and Business Analysts on the analysis of features and product backlog increments, ensuring they are all aware of the business value of each item
  • Core competencies, experience & knowledge :

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field
  • Two or more years of experience in developing a digital product (mobile app or web service) and proven track record for applications launched
  • Experience working with internal and external business partners, driving and completing concurrent projects on time and within budget
  • Knowledge of the IoT and mobile application industry and services
  • Experience in digital product development lifecycle from insight to launch and aftermarket support (SDLC)
  • Understanding of fundamentals of software development processes and procedures, as well as supporting systems and architecture
  • Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry strongly preferred
  • JIRA / Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Behaviours and other competencies :

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies / in Agile teams strongly preferred
  • Product Owner experience / certification is strongly preferred
  • Strong facilitation and organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with both technical and business audiences
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem solving skills, with high-levels of creativity
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Customer centricity
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls
