The BBCX team are engaged with digitally transforming a Large UK Bank which is solely focused on savings products. We are currently looking to recruit an Android application development team to bring in house the development and support functions associated with the bank's Android Banking application currently being developed by a 3rd party.
The new Android Team will work with the in-house iOS development team to develop the mobile customer interaction channel in line with bank's digital-first vision.
Initial Android application offering will support customers completing balance checks and will be integrated with a 3rd party Identity management system that supports Biometrics.
There is a roadmap to make this a fully transactional application during the course of 2022. The Android Developer will join a small self-sufficient friendly team comprising of Java and iOS Developers.
The team is responsible for developing all-new customer-facing Web and Mobile systems for the bank.
Main responsibilities :
Design and build an advanced application for the Android platform
Design and develop aplication by using Backbase platform
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Work with outside data sources and APIs
Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
Monitoring the performance of live apps and working on optimizing them at the code level
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Staying up to date with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols
Main requirements :
4 years of development experience in Android App Development or Mobile App Developer.
Proven software development experience and Android skills development
Strong knowledge of Google’s Android design principles and guidelines
Experience with Android SDK
Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Familiarity with various testing tools
You have experience in publishing an application on the Google Play store
Good to have :
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, CI / CD
Experience with Backbase platform
