Arhs Developments Hellas is looking for Senior Systems Engineer to join one of our core teams that work for a big project in the Big Data & Data Analytics Department.
You will participate in the deployment and configuration of on-prem and cloud-based data lakes and you will also be responsible for various dev-ops and data-ops implementations.
At the end of your day, you will deploy a mix of open source and commercial platforms and tools such as Hadoop, Kafka, Kubernetes, and non-SQL databases, for building big data clusters.
You must be responsible for installing all the necessary components starting from the operating system, as well as tasks like security hardening, performance optimization, IP L3 network design & configuration etc.
You will work closely with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to build dev-ops and data-ops environments that will seamlessly deploy data applications from development to production clusters.
Qualifications
Computer Science or another equivalent university degree
Proven experience Experienced with Linux OS systems installation
Proven experience of Bash Scripting
Proven experience Linux IP L3 Network configuration
Proven experience with storage systems (such as RAID, Common Storage, NAS, Software-Defined Storage)
Proven experience in Linux Security Hardening and encryption (e.g. data encryption, Kerberos authentication etc.)
Proven experience in Dev-Ops with Kubernetes
Experienced in Hadoop or other big data technology stack
Experienced in Java or Python
Experienced with Kafka
Experienced with Linux High Availability
Bonus skills
Postgraduate degree in Data Analytics
Working experience with building disaster / recovery sites
Working experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
System Administration Certification or experience with Cloudera CDH / CDP
Experience with any of the following Kubernetes platforms : Openshift, Rancher, k0s
Experience with IBM’s Cloud Pack for Data
Experience with DBs like Oracle Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum etc.
